The trailer has just been released and I can’t wait!

It’s probably my favourite programme atm so it’s a shame it’s ending but I’d rather that than it getting repetitive and dragged out.

I think that Logan thinks Gerri enjoys being the CEO too much, whereas he’d thought she’d just be his puppet. Also he seemed to take the dick pic as a black mark against her.

Don’t trust Kendall. He took the call from Mattson who said he would walk away from the deal and ignored it. Then, in the car when he knows they’re going to push for more money, he smirks. Why does he want the deal to fail? Does he want Logan to fail so that he can sweep in and claim the whole pot?

I've been wondering this today too. I think him wanting the deal to fail so the board will oust Logan and Kendall can take over is the most likely reason.
I read a theory in the comments of a review somewhere that it's a substitute for Kendall's drug-induced highs, the thrill of bringing the deal down and the drama it will cause...seems a bit far fetched but who knows with this lot!

tribpot · 04/04/2023 18:43

Agreed, it's easy to see Kendall as the underdog. He has always been the most fragile of the siblings, even compared to Connor. But he's been trying to oust Logan for years. If he can find a way to hurt him more than the Pierce deal did, I'm sure he'll take it.

Groovester · 04/04/2023 23:01

P.s. I’m most like Roman and least like Shiv. I can take that!

Groovester · 04/04/2023 22:56

I am Logan! And least like Greg.

SpookyBlackCat · 05/04/2023 00:21

I got Connor! At first I was shocked, then I realised it probably makes sense.

blahblahblahandblahsomemore · 05/04/2023 04:58

This episode was so brilliant. Every one of them just so good. Kerry’s tape sub plot was great and I loved the scene between her and Greg.

The apology scene in the karaoke was amazing. Kieran Culkin is an amazing actor, I just felt so sorry, for Roman even though you’d seen him a few scenes earlier being an utter dick to the woman at the airport.

Def need more Geri though and maybe more Alexander Skaarsgard just because he’s so nice to look at 😉

PuppyMonkey · 05/04/2023 08:46

I got Connor too.Grin

MarkWithaC · 05/04/2023 09:11

I got Roman Grin
Some elements REALLY resonate: 'runt of the litter'; 'sarcastic, witty and erratic'; 'struggles to devote his attention to anything remotely serious'...

IClaudine · 05/04/2023 10:55

I am Roman!

I got Logan 😬

Shit I'm Logan too!

BlindyPeakers · 05/04/2023 13:59

Did anyone else wonder why the guy who was laughing at the video of Kerry on his laptop didn't switch to a different window BEFORE he connected to the display screen?

It had to happen though to show the reason why Logan decided to torpedo Kerry's news anchor career.....

Roundlampshade · 05/04/2023 16:22

He didn’t have time. He closed the laptop to shit down the video as quickly as he could.

SpookyBlackCat · 05/04/2023 16:26

He shut the laptop and then disconnected the wire that attached to the projector. Then he reconnected the wire before opening the laptop. He could have opened the laptop, closed the window and then plugged in the wire. But, he was under the steely gaze of Logan and I think anyone would crack under that pressure.

JaneFondue · 05/04/2023 16:53

The karaoke room scene. OMG it just sums up the loneliness of life and how we are all pathetic love sponges like the Roy kids.

The acting is beyond great. Kieran Culkin should get his Emmy finally.

This is definitely the golden age of TV. I enjoy Succession so much more than any movie playing right now.

They mentioned Conor wasn't on the board - how come? And how come he never felt that an entitled heir to the business the way the rest of them did? He is certainly deluded enough in his capabilities to think that he could.
Perhaps this was explained previously and I just can't remember.

Roman is still the only one resembling a human at times - concern for Conor, texting his dad Happy Birthday despite the fall out, not wanting to do the meeting with Logan because of Conor's wedding (but ultimately being persuaded otherwise - he always seems to want to actually do the right thing but is so easily swayed by others he deems to be more powerful).

Why did Logan say "Not Gerri" when he was getting in the car and calling the meeting? Is she on the outs?

Kerri is so annoying! Stay out of everything! Can't wait until Logan gets bored of her like he does with everyone else and discards her. Perhaps its started now that she has lost her "betrayal virginity" as Kendall called it.

Isn't it because has a different mum and the other kids have a stake through Logan's divorce settlement with their mum? May be wrong!

tribpot · 05/04/2023 20:52

That's right, aren't they actually representing their mum on the board, and that's why she could pull the rug out from under them at the end of the last season.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2023 20:58

Omg the Leonard Cohen karaoke one of the most beautiful depressing songs ever no wonder they were climbing the walls. Imagine being in a proper public bar singing that theyd boo you out of the room.

I think they and their mother had a supermajority – enough shares together to outvote the rest of the board – but it was tied to the divorce terms in some way and their mother agreed to give up her shares in return for her new husband getting a 'leg-up' from Logan (he had designs on the House of Lords), which left the siblings short.

I’m not watching until tonight, but just a warning that there’s a spoiler on the Daily Mail 😡

Hoping we can keep the thread spoiler-free until tomorrow, good warning @Blondbombsite

Netaporter · 10/04/2023 09:30

I’ve watched it and all I will say is that the first ad break is over half an hour in. It is one of the finest written episodes ever.
