Anyone excited for the final season of Succession? *Spoiler alert*

Hmm … Thing is, while I was watching the episode I wondered whether, off-screen, Frank and Karl (definitely not Gerri …) might not have surreptitiously altered or faked a second piece of paper - because they really, really didn’t like what was on the original ‘princess’ document. The underlining / crossing out of Kendall’s name would merely sow confusion and uncertainty, keeping the old guard secure.

However - they will be found out eventually because of the CCTV Tom joked about in Ep1. Just as everyone laughed about Bridget but it wasn’t funny when the same thing happened to Kerry. Honestly I believe everything played for fun in Ep1 was foreshadowing of something more serious to come.

That was my theory. But no one else seems to be thinking that way - so perhaps I’m wrong.

I don't think they can have faked a document unless they did it after Gerri had joined them, as there wasn't time. And if so, it would have been safer just to destroy the one that existed and claim ignorance.

I love this theory. Is it possible Kerry knew where the paper was and that is why she was so desperate to get upstairs? Is the library upstairs?

Did they say they found it in Logan's desk? Or was it the safe? Are both upstairs?

It was in his private safe, in his office. Definitely upstairs.

Unless … Frank created it and then ’found it’, as executor, and showed it to Karl. All his outrage could have been fake. As we know, Frank is the only one who gives a fig for Kendall - maybe he’d think Kendall the most bendable. (Not sure I believe any of this, just speculating!)

I can't think that Frank would have put 'Greg?' on it, although if he hadn't it would have deprived us of Greg trying to make out 'it wasn't that kind of question mark'.

Something more is definitely going to happen with Kerry. We haven't seen the last of her. Roman asked for her number, probably because he wants to have a blow by blow account of Logan's final hours. Maybe he will find out that his message indirectly or directly gave Logan a PE!

Who’s more ‘princess-y?

(I appreciated the observation above - forget who made it - that Roman pretends to be hard-hearted but is actually a bit of a softy, whereas Mr Touchy-Feely-Therapy-Guru Kendall is actually a ruthless tearer out of throats who only pretends it’s all causing him pain. Or perhaps he enjoys the pain it causes him?)

I can't imagine Logan would have wanted Kerry as CEO, he wasn't impressed with her interview tape and wanted Tom to let her down re that role...but I do think there was something she wanted to get from upstairs, some kind of proof their relationship was more serious.

I agree re the phone falling/being thrown in the toilet after Logan listening to Roman's message...that was my first thought when Tom told Greg that. Sure Roman will want a conversation with Kerry to find out exactly what happened.

Re Shiv and when her and Tom first met I thought her and Nate had recently split and she’d come out of a rough break up with him? Nate refers to Tom as ‘basic’ and is quite disparaging about him so it could be she went with Tom because he was easy and probably pretty doting at the start?

Also hoping Euan comes back at some point? Seems unlikely he won’t as Succession doesn’t usually leave loose ends. He did seem keen on Marcia as she invited him over for Thanksgiving in season 1 and they seemed to get on well then.

I don’t think Kerry will feature much more now as her rise and fall was totally dependent on Logan and now he’s gone and Marcia is back she doesn’t have any allies (except maybe Roman but he’s never been very reliable). Marcia is such a great character.

im assuming the actors rl pregnancy is now being included? Will she be a better parent that her own? Is it the other fellas baby?

Unless they do a time jump (which could happen, à la House of the Dragon!) we’re unlikely ever to see what sort of parent Shiv makes. This season so far is concentrated on such a tiny number of hours / days.

I’m just thinking out loud. The writer wanted to do an off shoot you know but the company wouldn’t entertain it🙁

The piece of paper that they found...was it like a codicil to his real will? I find it hard to believe that someone like Logan would not have some sort of will in place that would deal with the bulk of his estate? Perhaps not specifying wishes for the take over of the company which I am sure was a fluid thought process but for bequests like the watch to Colin?

Had Frank etc already had sight of the real will and focused on this as it dealt with the company?

Greg's grandfather was certainly quick to hold his will drafting over him. I would have thought Logan would also be as prepared.

Sorry just realised I had read the screenshot of the will somewhere else. It refers to Executors and additions so there must be another will. But as this is the paper that deals with the CEO query, then this is where the interest lies.
