I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

It'll be Easter Saturday, surely. The day after Ashes to Ashes returns. Bumper weekend of telly for me, and then I get to say 'yay for Jesus' on Sunday. Can't see the bad side

I am like UQD on this one - I'm optimistic. He looks suitably outlandish and manic. And of course the new screwdriver is about marketing - as is the logo change. Embrace it, it's the way forward...

Tennant will be back eventually, I'm convinced. Even if it's just for a ten minute special on Children Have Sporty Red Needy Noses or something.

I miss DT! I hope they do bring him back even if it's only for ten minutes.

I'm with UQD too. He reminds me of Sylvester McCoy's Doc. Matt Smith I mean not UQD

The bit on the trailer where he says "bit green" sounds very Sylvester!

I hope they don't bring DT back for a good while, anyway ( Put on hard hat to shield myself from stones) My maternal side really hopes MS does really well- poor boy-having to fill the shoes of the best doctor ever! He's just got the job of his life, he's only a young thing, and people are already wanting the other bloke back! It would really undermine him to actually bring him back! I think he's going to be great and an equal to the gorgeous DT!

I never thought DT could be as good as CE and he obviously was, so I am confident that the casting people know what they're doing and that by the second episode MS will be the Best Doctor Ever

How long before they get CE, DT and MS together to do a Five Doctorsy sort of thing??? Christmas special 2011 p'raps?

If anyone knows when the first episode is repeated I would be VVVVV grateful. I can't find it anywhere and have resorted to emailing the BBC. I need an episode later than Saturday so I can download it on Iplayer. We should be back about 4pm Sat so may just cathc it but I need a backup for when if the M6 is blocked. (ditto for Ashes to Ashes if you see that too!)

Nymph They normally repeat that weeks episode of Doc who on the Sunday night on BBC 3, I could be wrong though. You going anywhere nice?

I hate digital tv , recording has got all complicated!

If I'm feeling a tad thick, I tend to ring my more knowledgable BIL who tends to have the answer to those kinds of queries.

Our tv loses. channels regularly and old my plc stuff didn't go digital . We tend to rely on iplayer to watch current stuff & eBay for older stuff

I've just seen Matt Smith on Jonathan Ross, he's very fidgitty. But on the plus side apparently we're going to get levels on the Tardis and it'll be a different shade of blue on the outside.

They also seem to be bringing the darleks back as well. Tbh I'd like some newer villans for a change. Oh well, we'll see how it pans out.

I think that was his first TV interview, and James Corden said a couple of weeks ago that he was really nervous about it, so maybe thats why he was fidgety. He kept getting distracted from his chain of thought!

Did anyone think Matt Smith looked incredibly camp as DW in that clip from Ep 6?

he is a bit foppish, but i still think he will be good.
