I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

He is fab!! Not particularly attractive bloke but then DT was never my type and i don't look at my DR for shaggability...

I miss david. didn't think the music or tardis were as good. had more humour in it thou.

We LOVED it and thought Matt Smith was brilliant. DD loved it, kept making her laugh
I was all prepared to not like it loving DT so much, but was very impressed and totally won over.

All the spitting out of food reminded me (sorry ) of when Tigger comes to the Hundred Acre Wood in Winnie the Pooh (yes, I know, sorry, sorry ) but he does feel a bit of a tigger character - v bouncy.

I loved it. I could see Tennant doing a lot of it, which is how it should be, same man after all, but I really enjoyed Matt's energy and was proper lol when he took his clothes off and Amy was impressed.

I like it except wish they hadn't gone for tweedy jacket and bow tie at end, have never liked the bow tie look (didn't another doc who have it earlier?)

Oh, but that new theme is going to take some getting used to.

I loved it, and I speak as a massive DT fan.

I liked Matt Smith - I think the confidence the scriptwriters imbue the Doc with is so sexy, IYSWIM.

My DS's eyes were on stalks at the new Tardis.

Yes, the theme wasn't what I heard on Radio 2.

Well i'm still yet to be convinced but thats only cos i was watching while taking sneaky looks at my DT calendar and wishing he was still there

Kids were a bit "meh!" but my OH loved matt smith, and the coming soon trailers at the end look very exciting

Have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this episode, have been a Dr Who fan for 40 years OMG!!!

I was so flaming angry about the policewoman in the short skirt that it completely spoiled the episode for me I was almost going to switch it off, until it was revealed, haha, she is really a kissogram. WTF!!!! Maybe I'm just a miserable old cow, but WTF was SM thinking of?

I know he probably wants the dads and young lads to "engage" but I don't want my dd1 -4yrs to watch a family program and see a that stereotypical image of a young girl dressed as a whore! So so sad...

Not sure what I meant by "stereotypical image" but you know what I mean and BTW thought Matt was good, just a shame the episode was spolied for me by the clothes.

Kay - I thought that too (about seeing DT doing it)- I thought it made the transition better.

I preferred MS in his more serious moments; I think those moments are the ones that prove whether an actor is good enough to take on the role, and I think he passed the test.

The food thing at the beginning went on much too long though -funny the first time or two, but then I just wanted to say 'Get on with it!'

Pretty girl saved from dull but clever boyf by the Dr - it's all very Rose. But i'm sure it won't go down that road - it would be toooo naff!

Love the crack in the wall though - SM knows we all have those memories of our rooms at night fro childhood. Did anyone else notice the monitor at the end had a pattern just like the crack in the wall?

Can't really believe that anyone (well anyone over the age of about 10) actually thought for a moment that that police uniform was seriously meant to be real.

Talking about the Doctor-eye-view section on confidential - not sure what I think about it, but I think it's positive.

redtartanlass - I do know what you mean about the policewoman costume, but they definitely have form on this - remember Leela?

I knew she was a kissogram as soon as I saw the pictures - skirt was a dead giveaway.

Haven't seen Confidential yet, it's recording, but I'm watching classic DW on the Sci-Fi channel - just caught the end of Logopolis & now it's Earthshock. Both Sci-Fi & Watch have been showing a lot of DW this weekend.
