I think Tom Baker was quite tottylicious, though. I may be alone in that, of cours.

Adric wasn't from Earth, was he? I really didn't like Adric though.

edam · 07/07/2008 10:57

My mother thinks you are, Jackie.

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 10:57

Yes, or Sally Sparrow (as people have been saying ever since Blink aired).

edam · 07/07/2008 10:58

You mean Jessica Hines/Stephenson, Dior? I could warm to that idea...

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 10:58

Really, edam? Oh dear - double then!

David Morrissey wouldn't be modern (victorian/edwardian from the trailer) and he's not from London..........

(I'm not going to let go of this idea)

MegReally · 07/07/2008 11:03

I'd be honoured Kay, don't worry about it

yes a new companion god they change so often. You'd have thought he would have stopped getting so attached to them now, surprised he even remembered Sarah Jane's name. I wouldn't after about 2 months [elderly]

it has to be some earth person though otherwise it is just two aliens in a spaceship. You can watch cartoons for that. I think it should be a Jackie Tyler character personally. Or a mumsnetter. Someone who turns up with a plate of buns or complains that the Tardis doesn't have any comfy chairs. I mean he may be pretty to look at but I wouldn't want to travel with him if it meant standing up all bloody day

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 11:04

A Hyacinth Bucket character, you mean, Meg?

MegReally · 07/07/2008 11:08

no a nice person not Hyacinth

an empty-nester maybe. Who goes travelling with the doctor instead of doing an Open University degree or becoming an alcoholic

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 11:09

Like Sue Johnson's character from Jam and Jerusalem, maybe.

squilly · 07/07/2008 11:10

I like the idea of a mumsnetter being a companion. You'd never get her off the computer long enough for her to visit the Medusa Cascade, or wherever else it was they'd landed.

And if she did go out, she'd find lots of things to put in a thread about the traffic wardens, or the junk food and the fact that they didn't do ricecakes in the local market.

And of course, she could instigate a SAHM vs MITD (Mum in the Tardis) debate. Am I being Unreasonable to think DH should look after the kids while I go tripping across the universe, time and space, with DT?? Well, am I ladies???

I'm really warming to this one

MegReally · 07/07/2008 11:10

yes

someone who would bring their own kettle

squilly · 07/07/2008 11:11

Megreally...and their own disinfectant. You never know what germs these aliens might carry?

MegReally · 07/07/2008 11:13

though she'd find it really hard to find a reliable cleaner

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 11:14

serenity, don't get me wrong - I'd love it if David Morrissey was the next companion. In period costume. I wouldn't get a sodding thing done all week thinking about the next episode, but what's new?

I just don't think it's going to actually happen.

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 11:19

or a breast-feeding in the TARDIS thread? That could have some mileage (Actually, did ya notice, I chucked in a little bit of pro-BF stuff in one of my stories? [has brownie points])

sallyforth · 07/07/2008 11:26

loved your fic Kay... esp the one with the 2 doctors getting annoyed by each other! it rang very true!

Raxacoricogizmopatorius · 07/07/2008 11:27

Offffffffffpppppppppppppppphhhhhhhhhhtt!!!

That's the sound of my morale deflating, that is. It's always like this: intense enjoyment of episodes 1-10, growth of hyped up anticipation for series finale, massive outburst of squeee (except for Last of The Time Lords, which was truely dire) and then - nothing. I am seriously feeling quite depressed and have been hiding most of the weekend trying to reconnect with the real world.

Will someone please tell me to get a life?

Oh and by the way - good, wasn't it? Particularly enjoyed six-pilots-in-the-tardis, but how come Jack gets the deeply suggestive knob plunging position?

sallyforth · 07/07/2008 11:27

or what about BLWing in the Tardis ... could be messy

Raxacoricogizmopatorius · 07/07/2008 11:29

Ha ha - the Doctor trying to track down the source of a mysterious cheese smell from under the time vortex manipulator. Retrieves small finger of chedder flung by DTLS 2.

MegReally · 07/07/2008 11:42

Raxa I too am bloody miserable. I am a grown woman fgs.

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 11:45

totally understnad. Why do you think I waste my time on fic?
