Sorry for the delay - internet went down just as I clicked create conversation....

OP posts:
edam · 06/07/2008 23:06

I feel really hungry now...

RustyBear · 06/07/2008 23:08

Catherine Tate's on Graham Norton in a minute. (bbc2)

RustyBear · 06/07/2008 23:14

Actually I think it's a repeat -he's asking about what's going to happen in the last episode

MegReally · 07/07/2008 07:21

I have only just found this thread

can anyone tell me why River Song had to die? Why couldn't she let the Doctor do the electricity thing because she would know he would regenerate if she knew him so well?

Rosylily · 07/07/2008 08:05

Kay I enjoyed reading your stuff

shrinkingsagpuss · 07/07/2008 08:28

The Dcotor 10.2 had to go because he committed genocide, by killing all the darleks, and needed to be consigned to the parallell universe..

I did find it a bit pukey that Doc 10.1 "gave" Rose the other doc, on the basis that he is part human (he neglected to say that tihs part is Donna - who'd wanna live with him???!!) and therefore he can grow old with her. All the whipserng in the er stuff was a bit sad.

But I thought actually it solved some problems, tied the ends up well. Had us on the edge of our seats, but less behind the sofa action than the previous episode!

MegReally · 07/07/2008 09:01

oh the whispering in the ear bit was crucial imo

sorry I am new to mumsnet and I just find this damn thread when the series is over

the real doctor couldn't do feelings in a human way etc because he was an alien - I have read RTD say this is why he couldn't cope with Martha being in love with him, didn't know how to handle it. So the human doctor told her

and of course he whispered in her ear; I didn't think that was sad at all - there was a whole crowd of people standing around. Who wants their mother and a redhead they barely know to hear the doctor's most intimate feelings about Rose?

Kay I love your fic; the one about them being in the hotel room was so sweet

I am so sad, I have been weeping real tears on and off all weekend about this

MegReally · 07/07/2008 09:03

I thought Doctor 10.2 (is this what we are calling him?) had to stay with Rose so she could make him better like she did with Christopher Eccleston Doc, who was a whole lot meaner until he met Rose because he had just finished with the Time War

he was a lot sexier tho I did not like seeing DT with no kit on

dh and I were watching Dr Who Confidential and christ, hasn't he aged since the last Bad Moon Bay which is what, 2 years ago?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 07/07/2008 09:52

Megreally - The ageing must be down the effect of being outside of the ozone so often

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 09:59

No Margo, I reckon it's all the extracurricular shagging he does in RL.

thewiltedrose · 07/07/2008 10:24

Just for you all... DT naked!!!

MegReally · 07/07/2008 10:25

RTD has done this before though hasn't he? With the Jackie/ Pete Tyler

'oh, he looks the same, so you might as well'

I dunno about it.

And I dunno about doctor 10.1 disappearing all morosely into the Tardis knowing that at some point he was going to get his end away with River Song

I wonder if Doctor 10.2 will mention that; best he keeps his gob shut. Or maybe it will come up in a row: "You're not the real doctor," "No but I chose you and he decided to shack up with a curly haired bird in a space suit"

MegReally · 07/07/2008 10:26

"The following image is provided for information purposes only"

what kind of information does it intend to supply?

Rosylily · 07/07/2008 10:33

But is River Song definately a lover? could she be his regenerated timelord daughter for example?

MegReally · 07/07/2008 10:34

she behaves very flirtatiously towards him in that case; I got the impression she was his wife or summat

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 10:37

Like a fine wine, Megreally

Thankyou muchly for saying nice things about my stories. There's a bit more the Leaving the Beach one now. Gotta fix that formatting.

serenity · 07/07/2008 10:41

Well, I've watched it three times now, and it gets more bloody fabulous each time (and I can even watch the beach scene now without hiding - I can read it, but I just don't want to see it!)

Ok, new companions......

After seeing the proper Christmas trailer I'm now even more convinced that I want David Morrissey as a fulltime companion. I'm bored with female ones and after Donna's rather spectacular perfomance I think we need a break. I really, really like the idea of the two Davids running around, saving things - they worked well together in Blackpool

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 10:41

meh, it's all moved on too quickly for my doddery old fingers. (I meant he's aged like a fine wine, of course)

I am definitely liking the row and bringing up River Song as an idea. I might work it into something, if that's not a problem?

serenity · 07/07/2008 10:42

Oh and is Ten now Eleven, or even 10.5 (as he stopped it halfway through)?

ReverseThePolarity · 07/07/2008 10:44

Aw Kay I love your fanfic.

I did wonder if possibly River Song might be something other than his future squeeze, but I'd be very surprised.

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 10:45

I think David Morrisey will be the ally/companion in the episode. Don't think he'll be full time in the TARDIS, though.

I tell you what I do want in a companion - I'd like one that isn't a modern person. Or from frigging London.

ReverseThePolarity · 07/07/2008 10:48

Oh yes. Not from London. Not from this century.

Or... even... now here's an idea... not from Earth!

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 10:51

Can we have Leela back? I loved Leela, and I wanted to be her. I realise I probably wasn't the target audience, but still.

edam · 07/07/2008 10:54

I think Leela was responsible for an awful lot of daddies suddenly taking an interest in children's TV. Certainly my own father was glued to the set, having not been bothered at all.

edam · 07/07/2008 10:55

Whereas my mother had watched every single episode from the start, and did they provide any top totty for the Mums in those days? Very unfair.
