All the stuff the Ninth Doctor used to berate Rose and fellow "apes" for being - ordinary chip-eating TV-watchers oblivious to the rest of the universe - Rose has escaped it all, but Donna never will.

It's a tragic ending without a death. I think it would be a mistake to compromise that by doing something with Donna in the future.

UQD - well we are all still into it and we've had more than 2 years gap...

Well, DD became a Who fan just on our accumulated videos from the classic series, which finished a couple of months before she was born.

She's still really a Classic fan at heart, one of her 'great moments' is meeting Tom Baker at a convention last spring.

Bit inconsiderate to snog the human Doctor in front of the real Doctor, I thought -- she could have waited til he'd gone?

I loved it, though. Very sad about Donna.

Maybe the Master's ring will be explored in a future episode. Quite deeply. It's a gap that needs to be plugged.

But the ring Donna was wearing in today's episode wasn't anything like the master's ring - it was grey an elongated shield shape with facets like a diamond - the masters ring was round, with a green centre & metal plaques engraved with symbols around the centre.

A penetrating ring discussion awaits, I think.

I must admit I was enjoying the other bits of the episode too much to pay much attention to the ring piece.

We have only really watched this series.

I have to post before I read, I watched the finale of this season and oooh ooh ooh but I can't read thread unles someone tells me there are no future spoilers about David T's contract or episodes or in fact anything.

I thought tonight's episode was fanblardytastic.

As they said in Confidential, the human Doctor was prepared to tell her he loved her while the alien one never could (which is why the human one got the snog). They could have had better dialogue in that scene, though.
