Sorry for the delay - internet went down just as I clicked create conversation....

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 30/07/2008 12:14

that was too much information, wasn't it

now you have all gone

Elffriend · 30/07/2008 13:34

Helloo - no, I'm here (though not really 'cos at work)

I did love CE as the doctor and will even admit to sulking and stamping at the time that it would not be any good when he left and was replaced by DT.

Would not climb over either of them to get to DH though...

Cappuccino · 30/07/2008 21:34

oh I do like the climbing over image

I imagine a poor dh sitting up in bed waiting for his wife, who has come across two crumpled Dr Who actors on the stairs and is wondering what to do for the best

TinkerBellesMum · 30/07/2008 22:11

Is anyone following the blog? I am, but it's getting a bit odd (or has it always been?) and the comments make me I do worry about some of these people, do they realise it's not really clone doctor? The one person keeps arguing with him - again

JackieNo · 30/07/2008 22:15

I read chunks, but keep forgetting about it (that's how good it is). Not sure I'll bother any more. You're right about the comments - v weird. (pot, kettle, black, I know)

sallyforth · 31/07/2008 01:58

clone_doctor is weird isn't it. I wonder if more than one person is writing it: the americanisms of the first posts seem to have disappeared and been replaced by some much more British idiom. It comes across to me as being written by someone very young (=in their teens).

There's also gratuitous use of holiday snaps! The funniest thing was when they photoshopped DT's head (badly) onto something that looked like a Clarks shoes ad to show clone_doctor "walking on the beach" in jacket and shorts .

I'm really hoping the commenters are just playing along.... but sometimes you do wonder.

TinkerBellesMum · 31/07/2008 08:00

Did you see the post where someone said they were thinking of writing a blog as Rose? That could go badly wrong! If it was to be done, it needs to be done in conjunction with clonedoctor like dd_f is (why is Donna using DDF?)

The blog has taken a lot from the doctor's personality. He's very pathetic (in the cute sense, but still, that's not The Doctor we know) and quite weak really. He's been turned into Eeyore!

Nymphadora · 01/08/2008 11:17

head round door , haven't been in for a while

Whats the blog?

and is the mini episode still available?

TIA (cos am off on holiday later!!!!!!!!)

TinkerBellesMum · 01/08/2008 11:45

Blog

LOL Christopher Eccleston is taking over Mister What for the second season!

Cappuccino · 01/08/2008 13:59

I hated the blog. I'm sorry. But I cannot see how the writer has taken the character of the Doctor and turned him into someone who spends his life curled into a foetal position eating marmalade out of a jar. I gave up yonks ago

I was really disappointed then because I read your post Tinkerbellesmum and thought for one wonderful moment that CE was actually going to be in something

the Coffee House rewatch continues this weekend, episode 2, series 1.

someone asked about my blog, I have written two chapters - count them, TWO (wow) of fic on a blog at megreally.blogspot.com

my actual usual blog, which has notihng to do with Dr Who at all, is at thecoffeelady.blogspot.com

I have done enough self promotion now to last a lifetime. I feel a bit dirty tbh

TinkerBellesMum · 01/08/2008 14:07

I know what you mean, it's not him at all. I just read what I said about him yesterday, I'd forgotten and it made me laugh reading it back:

"The blog has taken a lot from the doctor's personality. He's very pathetic (in the cute sense, but still, that's not The Doctor we know) and quite weak really. He's been turned into Eeyore!"

I do mean taken it away, not that they have done well with it.

I'm finding it hard to stop reading, it's so painful!

I need to put this back on 'Threads I'm On' too - I've been busy preparing for the curse to fall upon me later today (or in other words, cleaning/tidying etc in preparation for MIL's visit.)
If I'm on MN for the next week or so it may be under a different name...

TheLadyofShalott · 02/08/2008 12:33

...this seems appropriate...

SciFiFan · 02/08/2008 15:53

Serenity - where are you getting your Supernatural fix from??

serenity · 02/08/2008 21:38

Mainly reading fanfic, but also surfing the net looking for spoilers for S4
The big San Diego Comic Con last weekend was excellent - they had a Supernatural panel with Kripke, Jensen , Jared and a couple of writers, I had a happy hour watching that on YouTube Kripke treated the attendees by showing a rough cut of the first five minutes of E1 'Lazarus Rising' although there were loads of online descriptions it took me 2 hours to track down a badly 'phone video'd download to watch (I felt like such a sad obsessive watching it, the quality was awful, but OMG it made me happy)
Er...what else? Watching fan vids on YT, reading yet more slashy fanfic, rewatching my favourite S1 and 2 moments whilst waiting for my S3 boxset to arrive.

Oh yeah, saddest of all - tracking down an unaired pilot that Ackles was in pre Dark Angel and smirking all the way through it as he has Sam hair (was good though)

Bet you wished you hadn't asked now

Frizbe · 03/08/2008 10:45

Serinity my bil was there for that in San Diego last week he's going to tell me all about it this week apparently

serenity- hello.. been ages since I have been on here... thread moves to fast for me to catch up... too busy crafting I guess...

serenity · 03/08/2008 15:35

at your BIL Frizbe. It sounded fabulous, there was a Chuck panel, and a Dr Horrible panel and loads of other stuff I would have loved to have seen. Now the DCs are older I'm getting tempted by some of the UK Cons, but they just don't have the weight of the US ones as far as I can see.

tigermoth · 03/08/2008 16:08

glad to see this thread is still going strong!

at scaryteacher's Dr Who Proms experience.

Does anyone know when the new Torchwood series will be on air?

Cappuccino · 03/08/2008 20:32

oh thank goodness you have all not gone

I was talking about the thread to dh at the weekend and he was saying basically that I was the only saddo left
