Sorry for the delay - internet went down just as I clicked create conversation....

OP posts:
KayHarker · 10/07/2008 16:28

Really? Good grief, it's not even remotely smutty. Maybe the filter doesn't like angst, there's some angst.

Elffriend · 10/07/2008 16:48

Kay - been busy so oonly jsut read.

Thank you. Feel much better now! (well, not exactly better, but you know what I mean...).

You're good aren't you?!

serenity · 10/07/2008 16:50

My PC would implode if I had one of those

fyi, this is the video I meant. Much nicer, tbh. And that's enough of that.

Right, I'm off to give Donna a real hero's ending, back later.

RustyBear · 10/07/2008 17:33

Right I'm home now, so I can read it & see what triggered off the porno filter at work.
Mind you, I work in a school, c
so the filter is a bit sensitive - the word 'bang' has been known to do it....

RustyBear · 10/07/2008 17:43

Well, it seems our school filter doesn't like kissing.

I like it though.....

JackieNo · 10/07/2008 17:48

Oh Kay - I got to the end of reading that and realised I'd been holding my breath for ages. That's good stuff. Thank you.

Rusty in the school I used to work in I couldn't buy a game of table top pool for the FE Dept because it came from a website that sold shot glasses

hoorah! I have convinced dd1 that she wants to watch Series 1, which she missed due to being born a bit late and being more interested in the Tweenies when it was aired. Isn't it great when your babies grow up?

serenity I will read that. Kay doesn't produce fic quick enough . It's like she has other things to do, and she's not a writing machine. It's pitiful.

TinkerBellesMum · 10/07/2008 21:58

Awww, that re-edit is brilliant. You can actually believe that they'll be happy together and she's not settling for second best.

sphil · 10/07/2008 22:15

Catherine Tate is on Charlotte Church now. I am watching with sound down until she comes on!

Frizbe · 10/07/2008 23:26

Hey guys, whose going to be buying themselves a Dalek Voice Changer Helmet this xmas then???

UnquietDad · 10/07/2008 23:58

I hope they do a German Dalek.

NoBiggyFinish · 11/07/2008 00:03

What is this "shippy" thing?

UnquietDad · 11/07/2008 00:13

People who are called "shippers" do relation-ship-(geddit?)based fan-fiction takes on programme's characters.

serenity · 11/07/2008 01:00

We need a fanfic glossary on here Crack, lemon, wingfic anyone?

NoBiggyFinish · 11/07/2008 07:34

Is that the same as slash then?

KayHarker · 11/07/2008 08:45

No, slash is the term for male/male stories, very often working from a subtext (that's an anagram )

femslash is a female/female pairing, het is male/female and gen is 'Oh-for-crying-out-loud-can-you-lot-think-about-something-other-than-sex-for-a-bit'

Katisha · 11/07/2008 10:08

And where has this "squeeee" business come from?

KayHarker · 11/07/2008 10:48

squee is the sound you make when you're very excited about something. Nothing more involved than that Although I often employ it as a verb (as in 'I squeed myself silly')

Shipper and squee-er can be used as pejoratives if you're really not into that (and I has no problem with that, horses for courses etc) or some use them nastily because they're far too grown up and sophisticated for that sort thing.

I'm happy to ship anyone, because it's fun. And I am of the decided opinion that it's better than killing people because it's fun. So shippers are at least better than the Toclafane.

Anyway, I'm in the middle of killing Donna, while my children do pages of maths problems [evil] so 'scuse me...

Katisha · 11/07/2008 10:52

Thank you.

PersephoneSnape · 11/07/2008 12:52

i missed this thread while i was in london for two days - i debated whether to buy season 2 box set for £30 in hmv, as i couldn't be bothered to carry it and they were bound to have plenty in glasgow. right? apparently not

sigh. now i have to ring every HMV within driving distance, or pick it up when i'm back in town next wednesday for my job interview.

bought s3 in zavvi at lunch for £35 though.

the shipping - each to your own, but i just don't see DW and rose together, even if he is in human form and I'm a horrible cynical nasty nasty person, so it's generally a bit too lovely for me.

MegReally · 11/07/2008 14:07

oh fab, I am becoming a real geek now, with new vocab!

I have been locked out of this thread now for a night because dd1's computer keyboard gave up the ghost, and my laptop is at Apple Hospital. It is like something is telling me to move on.

I went to PC World this morning and replaced the keyboard. If something is trying to tell me something, I refuse outright to listen.
