Sorry for the delay - internet went down just as I clicked create conversation....

OP posts:

yes, because it's much easier to explain, on the off-chance that he pops round to your house, if his picture is on your desktop than if it's pasted up hundreds of times over on your walls.

I don't know, I don't really think he'd find the second option all that charming

PortAndLemon · 07/07/2008 19:18

Rusty -- just in case...

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 19:33

Ah yes 'wall-to-wall perfection' indeed.

it would be more subtle to have a duvet cover made

Elffriend · 07/07/2008 20:58

DH gone out! Yippee, can come back to this thread!

Elffriend · 07/07/2008 20:58

ohmigod Rusty - that picture! I'm going for the duvet option.

Hassled · 07/07/2008 21:06

Great review of the last episode here - Lucy Mangan in the Guardian

UnquietDad · 07/07/2008 22:14

I, on the other hand, prefer this !!

Elffriend · 07/07/2008 22:22

I'm back! (but only briefly - do have to go to work inthe morning!). Have just watched confidential properly (as opposed to being a total lust deranged girly and concentrating on the snogging pathos of Bad Wolf Bay). I reached the conclusion that I need to buy the lot now on DVD.

There is now no decent Sci-Fi (and I can be generous in my definitions) on telly and no DT. What am I gonna do 'til Xmas

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 22:25

Do you have Casanova yet? V good, lots of fun, lots of DT, lots of yearning and sadness too.

Elffriend · 07/07/2008 22:27

No - did watch it and really enjoyed it but there's no Tardis. I need props!

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 22:35

Ah, well I just got all squeeful by the titbit that they cut from the script the original Doctor giving the second Doctor a coral thinymajig from the TARDIS so he could grow his own. So I'm definitely going to have a bit in his pockets. Because Props are important.

Dammit, there was just too much in the episode! Over-stuffed and thus lots missed out sadly.

serenity · 07/07/2008 22:44

Things to watch before Christmas....

The Last Van Helsing with Philip Glenister

Stargate Atlantis (S5) starts on Sky One in August

Dexter S2, just started on Sundays on FX

I know only SGA can be loosely counted as SF, but I'm trying

KayHarker · 07/07/2008 22:55

Well, Doctor Who isn't strictly Sci-fi these days, is it? Straying perilously close sometimes into fantasy territory.

I iz having no complaintz.

Sorry everyone, given up on the porn fic for tonight, thought it might be pleasant distraction, but my mojo has completely disappeared. But I read this again to remind myself I can do it when I haven't got children awake to the wee small hours. You may appreciate it if you're desperate.

JackieNo · 08/07/2008 08:07

That van Helsing thing looks interesting, maybe, Serenity. Not sure I'm going to fancy Mr Glenister as a 'larger than life American' though. Worth a look, definitely.

Rosylily · 08/07/2008 08:22

I love this thread (trots off to look for blackpool clips....)

meridian · 08/07/2008 08:35

kay- another great fan fic

I love this thread... it makes me laugh everytime I read it..

UnquietDad · 08/07/2008 09:32

I don't think Doctor Who is "science fiction" in the sense in which people normally understand the word. It's sort of family-adventure-fantasy-magical-realist-comedy-drama.

KayHarker · 08/07/2008 09:50

Jackieno, I'm a bit about the thought of Glenister doing an American accent. Although there is a marvellous coat from the pictures I've seen. If all else fails, I can always put it on mute.

mankyscotslass · 08/07/2008 10:04

Heroes Season 3 starts in September, apparently been rated better than season 2, so that will keep me going til Christmas.
But will still miss my Dr Who fix

oh yes Heroes that might cheer me up. I seem to be watching Smallville repeats which are not good - that's rather sad, isn't it? I haven't felt this bereft since Buffy ended

Iol at putting Glenister on mute. I can't read your fic now Kay I am at work and I am very as my laptop has crashed and needs to go to the doctor's. I will have to sneak onto dd1's computer and read the porn when she is asleep - bad, bad terrible mother emoticon

can anyone tell me about the doctor's psychic abilities? what are they then? they were mentioned in a fic and I didn't know what they were. As I said, I don't remember much, I am very old. Far too old for Smallville.

oh Blackpool is good. If you can stand to watch him in that mini-mart without sighing you are a better woman than me. Even his eyelids are sexy. (And he is younger then obv )
