Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Thank you for the new thread @Southeastdweller

80s it is not a classic week but there are some good bits.

I hear what you're all saying about Cindy and Max. But I’m not sure Cindy is really that fussed about the ethics of the situation. She shagged George’s son so I doubt she’d be bothered about Max shagging Lucy. And she never seemed to care much about Steven. So I do buy that she would forgive Max all that. If their pairing been storylined over two years, with them intermittently at war but getting closer, it could have worked. But the flash forward is laying waste to both Cindy and Linda's characters. I agree Cindy would never beg once, never mind twice. She’d be chucking beer over his head.

Yep, missed a lot !
thanks for the new thread south
we do have a smart tv in the room, but it kept on breaking up and pixelating ! So gave up on it.
Was funny on Thursday seeing Max with a multicolored face.

Fyr · Today 12:31

Cindy feels like she is reading from a script right now

the80sweregreat · Today 12:32

Thanks for the new thread!

Mo really can't act, Jean really showed her up today.

I thought Tommy was going to blame himself and get back on the vodka.

Oh god, I'm going to have to brace myself for Laila Morse trying to act devastated. How she shares DNA with the amazing Gary Oldman is a mystery.

Anyonecanfallinlove · Today 15:55

I have watched today's, as these posts intrigued me. Jean's speech was the turning point of the episode and suddenly it was emotional. Jean and Kat were the stars of the episode. Kat brought so much emotion, it is sad to have a child (actually 2) the way she did, and then have both taken from her. Then to lose contact, the son die, then the daughter comes back but is clearly troubled, and then dies.
I agree about Tommy and the vodka, as soon as he heard Kat.
I also wondered if they are setting it up for Josh to be the evil twin, like the other twin son was. They seemed to over play him not being emotional. I mean to be honest who could blame him, he didn't know Zoe, and spent all of 2 minutes with her. Today was the first scene with them all at the Vic tardis, but Zoe was already dead

murasaki · Today 15:58

Jean's speech was very good. She's very versatile.

Maybe they had Josh show no emotion as if he'd tried it would have been terrible!

Eastie77Returns · Today 17:23

Yes I think asking the Josh actor to display grief would have been a bridge too far so they played the emotionless “maybe it hasn’t hit me yet” card for him. Jasmine has marginally improved. Agree that Kat and Jean were the best. Jean’s speech was great. Alfie terrible and out-acted by Tommy. I mentioned on the previous thread that Leila Morse is playing herself and has never acted. I have no idea why they have kept her on. Hopefully she will go on a long trip with Fat Elvis to deal with her grief.

I found the last scene with the square residents outside the pub very moving and Julia’s Theme always gets me😫

murasaki · Today 17:40

I was wondering if, given the police didn't say anything to Zac, the other square residents were counting the slaters out of the pub to figure out who it was!

Anyonecanfallinlove · Today 17:54

Yes it did look like the whole square was trying to name the dead Slater.
Also I wonder why they did the scene with the police finding the mobile phone, what will come from that?

Anyonecanfallinlove · Today 17:55

There's not many on the square now that haven't lost a child

BitLippie · Today 18:43

Thanks for the new thread @Southeastdweller 🙏

I found today’s episode gut wrenching and wish the writers hadn’t written Zoe out this way. It feels like too much on top of the other recent, awful things the Slaters have been through and the other big storylines brewing on the Square currently.

Sometimes you need to let the big dramatic plots simmer down and play out without heaping more and more and bigger and worse shit on your characters, otherwise it just becomes a muddle of crisis after disaster after heartbreak and stops feeling coherent. It wasn’t long ago that the emergency services were carting Antknee’s body out of the Vic! I wish the scriptwriters would take this on board!
