Really??
Well I suppose it was her best day's acting for a while 😂

storminabuttercup · 14/09/2026 20:27

I will admit I sobbed today, Jean was brilliant.

will they find out Max was in the room? There was a 999 call they said so it will open up suspicion

I’ve just caught up on Thursday to today, Zac wouldnt have been so hard on Zoe and Linda surely can’t love Max, it’s like they’ve given them personality transplants

EmeraldShamrock000 · 14/09/2026 20:30

Thank you for the thread. Kat with the cup of tea was very strange, I know people react strangely but Eastenders pushes it.
I don’t know if I can deal with all the sadness. I’ll see how the week goes with the storyline. 😳

Michelle R obviously wasn’t hanging around for the aftermath so today Zoe was a pile of blankets and a plastic arm.

But I thought Kat, Jean and Tommy were very good. You could really feel Kat’s distress.

Josh didn’t disgrace himself, he wasn't bad today. He barely knew Zoe and he’s got a mum so he’s not going to be devastated. Jasmine was predictably terrible.

It looked like Zoe's body was removed in a covered coffin. I have never heard of that happening, the undertakers use a covered stretcher.

The body removal surprised me aswell. Now I know that undertaker, and I've been to many funerals that they have done, and they've collected bodies of people I know. I've never heard of them using that equipment, but maybe that's because they've collected/moved under different circumstances. The car they most definitely use as it is their personalised number plate

EmeraldShamrock000 · 14/09/2026 20:46

Oof that was very tough. Poor Jasmine. Brilliant acting today from everyone, Kat’s emotions felt real. Very sad,
I would have to uncover Zoe.

Shellingbynight · 14/09/2026 20:47

@Anyonecanfallinlove Odd isn't it, maybe they thought it looked more dramatic with a coffin. They got it exactly right with Eddie a few months ago - his body was put in the private ambulance on a wheeled covered stretcher and Denise (just diagnosed) was watching.

You're right! I forgot about Eddie, but he did go out that way. It's the first time I've ever seen them do this, perhaps it was for dramatic effect. Do we remember how "Antnknee" was taken out? Strange really how both he and Zoe died in almost the same spot, in a similar way with a head injury

the80sweregreat · 14/09/2026 21:19

Gary oldman as fat elvis
that’s the wonder of you !

Livingthebestlife · 14/09/2026 21:41

Ah that was a sad episode. Kat really is brilliant. Glad they just had one story line in the episode and not squash in other rubbish. The twins just aren't likable. Poor Tommy..... Why did eve have such an angry face ?

Shellingbynight · 14/09/2026 21:48

@Anyonecanfallinlove I am not sure if we even saw Antnee's body removed from the house? I can't remember.

Alucard55 · 14/09/2026 21:49

Agree the probably did a few different takes of Jazz Hands doing sad then shocked then angry then confused then went no fuck this just keep a straight face and we'll make it work.

Eastie77Returns · 14/09/2026 21:59

I can't even remember Antnee being killed which says everything about that storyline.

Jasmine was complaining and crying that at least Jazz Hands Josh still has his mum but she doesn't have one now. She does have a (adoptive) mum, the one Lauren and Cindy found, who has been completely forgotten about?! It's all so clunky.

I don't think the 999 call will open up suspicion. Presumably it was Zoe but she was too unwell to talk. They said the caller didn't speak and so the operator just hung up and put the number on a list to follow up but it was not prioritised😔

Kat having to be virtually lifted out of the Vic with her legs completely buckling under her was so very sad to watch.

I was wondering why Eve was pulling faces.

Maybe as Stacey is her bestie ex wife and her current wife has just evicted the Slaters.

Has it been announced who is moving into Jean’s old place? I was wondering if it is going to be Nicola’s family.

Southeastdweller · 14/09/2026 22:53

It probably will be the Hawkins who move into Suki’s rented house. They are all skint but I’m sure the good old EE magic money tree will produce £8-10k for them.

The hardest part for me was “I tried to warm her up” I was all choked up. Tommy, Kat, Alfie, Jean.. they all did brilliantly today. 🥹

I thought it was a bit weird to have Bert and Ernie showing their first real bit of emotion/acting ever today, they needed some practice as it did ruin it a bit.

storminabuttercup · 15/09/2026 07:45

I wondered why the angry face from Eve, could have Just been a ‘my wife just evicted the slaters now this’

I don’t think it’s totally weird that boy twin wasn’t sobbing, he barely interacted with her

poor port Tommy, I know it was the horror of the situation but imagine this will send him off the rails

Shellingbynight · 15/09/2026 08:12

@Eastie77Returns I agree Zoe realised she was very ill and made the 999 call but she was too ill to speak. I thought that was a nice detail.

Suki will move into the old Slater house which she owns, then someone (doubtless Hawkins) will move into Suki's which Masood owns and rents out. You would think Mas would have sold it by now. Or it could be Sean (and Jean, Stacey, Lily, Charli etc) moving into Suki's. They have to live somewhere and there are a lot of them.

BitLippie · 15/09/2026 08:36

On a positive note, I did think the acting was mostly good in yesterday’s episode. Alfie, Kat & Tommy especially.

Jazzhands was much better than he has been. Jazz-mine did her usual GCSE drama over acting. I love Jean but I thought her monologue to Zoe was a bit too scripted.

Layla Morse just plays herself, basically. Not a BAFTA winner, no, but I like her 😆

FieldofMusic · 15/09/2026 09:42

I actually felt a bit choked up at the end. Jean was fantastic as was Kat. She seems so brash and large than life when she dressed up in her leopard print and boots but in her pyjamas with no make up she looked heartbreakingly tiny and vulnerable. Tommy is a good actor too, he's really grown into the role.

No! He and Mo have regular “bunk ups”. Can’t have her brother playing him!!!

Shellingbynight · 15/09/2026 16:42

Just watched tonight's.

Nice smacks from Priya and Cindy, but Peter hitting Max looked so lame.

Why is Priya carrying the DNA letter around with her, surely you would burn it!

Max is such an old dog. Lauren you’re the only one I can talk to. Lauren storms off. Oh here’s Oscar - Oscar you’re the only one I can talk to.

But I hope they are not somehow going to make Zoe’s death “Max’s fault”.

And there’s another reason Linda cannot be with Max, he is pickling himself in whiskey.

the80sweregreat · 15/09/2026 16:46

Oh yes. Maybe Gary oldman could do a cameo as Big Mo’s cousin or something like that.

soddingspiderseason · 15/09/2026 17:55

Hi, apologies if this has already been mentioned, but is the Queen Vic a tardis? Just how many bedrooms does it have? I just can’t work out how an average size pub on the outside could accommodate Kat & Alfie, Zoe, Jean, Jasmine, Mo, Tommy, Lily & Charli and the twins. At least now Zoe has died there is another room free.

The whole of Albert Square is a tardis. None of the set ups really make sense.
