I absolutely loved Unforgotten (or The Unforgotten?) too. My favourite genre in general is gritty, British crime drama and this just gets everything right for me

Edited to add, I forgot to say I also really enjoyed Black Doves with Kiera knightley. More silly than gritty but just enjoyed it

The Americans - the entire thing was amazing but the final episode is pure perfection. Best thing I've ever seen on tv.

Recently, I’d say The Bear or The Pitt. High adrenalin and workplace burn out.

Further back, This is Us, Gilmore Girls, Virgin River but only series 1, all cozy hometown family values.
But I loved The Terror, maybe for Jared Harris and the mounting madness or maybe the green screen effects.

Way back, 1980s Brideshead Revisited was life changing for 13yo me!

The Bridge - great story lines which kept me hooked. It also helped being sub'd as I had to give it my full attention. Was very sad when it finished

Killing Eve - just so different than other series. Bold colours, great soundtrack and Jodie Cromer was just sublime

ER - absolutely loved this. I think it was getting to know the characters and their lives along with the medical drama. See also The Pitt

Slow Horses - gritty, fast paced, very interesting storylines and characters, with lots of humour

Friends - just a comfort watch. Watched it when I was pregnant with and then had my newborn for a bit of company on a Friday night

Happy Valley - just loved Sarah Lancashires character in it with zero fucks given, just trying to get through each day. Just brilliant writing and acting

Derry Girls - really reminds me of being at school in the mid to late 80s with all the music and fashion.

I have enjoyed lots of others, but I think these are my main loves

Madmen: love the sixties, felt I learned something about the advertising industry & American history in that era. Loved the fashion and bought into the characters. A good twist, which I won’t give away. It did jump the shark, but even the later series were watchable.

The sopranos , Dark on Netflix is by far the best thing I've watched in years . Everything about it the casting is excellent the soundtrack is amazing the story keeps you on the edge of your seat , it requires concentration and can't be watched while on your phone.
