Rivals I think for me, nostalgia AND how the other half live!

White Lotus, again, how the other half live!

Game of Thrones. I love everything about it, the imagination to create an entire new world with a history like what GRRM created that gave me goosebumps at times. I could and do watch it repeatedly! Nothing compares.

Also, a distant second - Breaking Bad.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/09/2026 20:37

It would be for me too @mtobrokeme but even you must admit the final series is dire. I was absolutely devastated

Oh, and Better Call Saul - I liked it MUCH better than Breaking Bad, though I liked that too. Much more character driven.

Tezza1 · 11/09/2026 20:51

Frasier
I, Claudius
Brideshead Revisited - but after numerous rewatches I thought it lost a lot when Sebastian sort of disappeared. I thought Anthony Andrews was absolutely perfect as Sebastian.
Medium with Patricia Arquette - I was obsessed by this at the time of its airing, but had to stop watching when I read how they intended to finish the series.
Yes, Minister/Prime Minister - I had to edit to add this when I was reminded by someone else's posts.
Star Trek - as a SF obsessed 12 year old, it ruled my life for three years. Now, Captain Kirk or William Shatner - don't know which one or if it's a combination of the two - makes me want to vomit.

Also
Dallas
V the mini series about Aliens coming to earth.

V - I love sci-fi, but that was terrifying. I am a cosy star trek , not an Alien or Stranger things sci-fi fan. But love love Resident Alien.

SulkingInTheCatio · 11/09/2026 20:52

West Wing.

didn’t go downhill ever imho. Great storylines and acting.

ER also great but the early days were best.

Gazelda · 11/09/2026 20:54

The West Wing
The Bear
ER
Spooks
handmaids Tale
Line of Duty
Homeland

all so brilliantly acted with suspense and a touch of dark humour.

friends for the humour and comfort value.

Celeb Traitors for the iconic ending.

The Masked Singer for the laughs.

Two of my favourite moments with teen DD were introducing her to The West Wing and us discovering The Bear together.

Sometimesitsmyownfault · 11/09/2026 20:56

Dallas - in position on the sofa and waiting for every episode.

Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul.

The Sopranos - binged & bought DVDs

Cold Feet - killer ending.

Happy Valley - again, in position and waiting for the start.

I did like Orange is the new Black, but stopped watching before the last series,
same with White Lotus, Killing Eve, Handmaidens Tale, Mad Med etc, I found myself snoozing more than watching. They all started so well.

WeasellyCreature · 11/09/2026 20:58

Ray Donovan

Onelittledog · 11/09/2026 20:59

This Life
This City is Ours is one of the best things I've seen recently, can't wait for season 2.

Ellafent · 11/09/2026 21:02

Bates Motel. Great storyline and slow unravelling of Norman’s character.

Rewatched the West Wing and I dont think it has aged well. Loved it first time round. Sorkin’s dialogue is witty and energetic, but on rewatch it just comes axross as contrived ans artificial, everyone speaks in perfectly constructed arguments, produces obscure facts on demand and delivers devastating comebacks without hesitation, just grates after a while.

It certainly hasn't aged well if you compare it to American Politics today!
