Are we really on a new thread already! Only seems like 5 minutes since the last one began.

Sarah is still in prison/on remand, (for killing Theo,) and is toughening up in there now, hanging onto snooker balls in a sock to hit someone with! One of the prisoners in there has been threatening her and her family if Sarah doesn't get Kit to help her son who is in trouble. (But Sarah has dumped Kit!)

Ma Driscoll has been getting jiggy with Brian! Ollie is in trouble for having a go at Gary's son who appeared to be assaulting Christina when she was drunk on the floor.

Tim reconnected with a cousin he hadn't seen for several decades, (Richie) who went on to kill his wife, and now Tim and Sally are looking after his daughter, and Lou and Mick's girls are back with Tim and Sally too!

We haven't seen much of Debbie lately - or Summer, which is a shame, but plenty of mardy Todd who hates the world right now.

Bernie's aunt has just turned up in the form of glamourous actress Frances Barber, and has only a few weeks to live. So she is hoping Todd can help her with a Dolly Parton themed funeral. R.I.P lovely Dolly! ❤

Thr breast cancer testing made no sense. Beanie said she has had 2 mammograms, she can defo wait for a doc appt. And Todd being all sad that he let Celeste down. He is her undertaker, hardly knew her. Such a weird storyline.

It will be Kit with cancer, not Bernie or Gemma.

HaddyAbrams · 31/08/2026 20:08

It feels really obvious where the breast cancer running in families is going.

It’s going to highlight the fact men can get it too with Kit having it I reckon

the80sweregreat · 01/09/2026 06:28

Eastenders had a character with breast cancer ( Stewart ) so maybe Kit will.

AmusedMaker · 01/09/2026 07:07

Yes, I didn’t get why Todd was so upset about Celeste? He’d only known her 5 minutes.
weird.
I reckon it’s Gemma who’ll have the breast cancer gene.
And I’m sure they’re doing the ‘drinks on the house’ thing on purpose now. It’s happening every episode 😂

the80sweregreat · 01/09/2026 09:02

Todd is behaving badly isn’t he. So over the top and being horrible. I think he needs to rein it in.

Justpolly · 01/09/2026 09:34

So will Bernie go looking for her mother? And if so, given that she and Celeste were twins, will the same actress (Frances Barber is it?) end up playing her?
I also think it will be Kit who gets Cancer. It has been said on here several times recently that the character has not seemed well.

the80sweregreat · 01/09/2026 09:42

Would they have the same actress playing twins ? I thought that Kit looked unwell as he is stressed out with work and Sarah being away. It might be cancer though.

eggandonion · 01/09/2026 10:40

Yes Kit really needs an illness storyline just now. There's nobody in hospital.

Deadringer · 01/09/2026 10:45

Yes it probably will be Kit, and while its good to highlight than men can get breast cancer too, this is one of the things that irks me about corrie. In recent years its boys getting groomed, men being the victims of dv, men being raped, men being killed by women, etc etc, I know these things happen, but they happen much more to females and I think there should be a bit more balance.

Deadringer · 01/09/2026 10:49

Speaking of the Rovers tendency to give out free drinks, anyone up for a drinking game Friday night? We all take a shot every time they say 'on the house'.
Actually no we will probably die.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 01/09/2026 11:08

Did we see blood on Kit’s top a few weeks ago? I’m expecting him to have cancer now.

I could not agree more. It was the same with the guy in Eastenders who was raped. He managed to get closure IIRC. If only RL was like that.

I know Todd's behaviour with shagging any willing man can be a part of gay culture but does anyone know if it's a common thing for men coming out of DA situations? I don't know of any women who have come out of such situations who have behaved in such a way, they are more likely to take a long time to come to terms with what's been done to them and rebuild themselves and their lives. And their trust.

I agree.
Maybe they think there’s enough info out there for women & girls regarding these issues, and that by focusing on Men it will help raise more awareness?
I for one ( as a mother of sons & daughters ) would never in a million years think breast cancer is something my sons would need to worry about.

Not sure I can handle another illness story, not with Bernie involved banging on about Goddesses, crystals and the universe

zanahoria · 01/09/2026 13:54

I do tend to hate cancer plots in soaps. They always harp on about raising awareness then more than often spread misinformation. The Hope one was the worst. She got cancer, was cured in three months and it was never mentioned again.

Although, Corrie is not as bad as EastEnders

Emmylou22 · 01/09/2026 14:04

Betsy's speech seems to have drastically improved in the past couple of weeks. This storyline will be forgotten, never to be mentioned again, shortly 🙄

Oh sorry! I watch on ITVX so I must have watched tonight's without realising when I watched last night's this morning (if that makes sense - confused myself there 🥴)

It’s ok 🙂

Also, wouldn’t Betsy have gone to rehab to help manage her stroke and get her mobility back and speech etc rather than people coming to the house?

zanahoria · 01/09/2026 15:30

What has happened to Daniel ?

Not seen him much since his breakdown in the school corridor

I only know of one teenager who had a stroke, late MILs neighbour. He went home quickly and recovered quickly but I don't know if that's normal. I just assumed a fit youngster would recover more quickly than the other people I knew who had strokes, all quite elderly. Actually I was shocked when I heard about him being in hospital as I'd never heard of a teenager having a stroke.

Just remembered my GM had two in her 40s and my mother nursed her at home but that was a long time ago so things would have been different. She made a great recovery but if she was very tired or run down you could see one side of her face would drop a bit.
