Are we really on a new thread already! Only seems like 5 minutes since the last one began.

Sarah is still in prison/on remand, (for killing Theo,) and is toughening up in there now, hanging onto snooker balls in a sock to hit someone with! One of the prisoners in there has been threatening her and her family if Sarah doesn't get Kit to help her son who is in trouble. (But Sarah has dumped Kit!)

Ma Driscoll has been getting jiggy with Brian! Ollie is in trouble for having a go at Gary's son who appeared to be assaulting Christina when she was drunk on the floor.

Tim reconnected with a cousin he hadn't seen for several decades, (Richie) who went on to kill his wife, and now Tim and Sally are looking after his daughter, and Lou and Mick's girls are back with Tim and Sally too!

We haven't seen much of Debbie lately - or Summer, which is a shame, but plenty of mardy Todd who hates the world right now.

Bernie's aunt has just turned up in the form of glamourous actress Frances Barber, and has only a few weeks to live. So she is hoping Todd can help her with a Dolly Parton themed funeral. R.I.P lovely Dolly! ❤

I really don't like that Bethany and Kit slept with each other. They really shouldn't have taken the story there.

I suppose the actress is doing a good job if most of us hate the Jodie character.

It's been so long since the dad appeared then vanished that I've forgotten why Jodie said whatever it was she said, or did, or fuck, I have no idea what his reappearance, presumably with pizza, is meant to signify.

Earlier this week she was wearing a skin tight denim style dress. She looked lovely with no lumps or bumps at all.

Ah that makes sense. I was surprised when upthread said about Becky being pointless. I thought Katherine Kelly was great - but now I realise! I too had forgotten undead Becky.

I use the word “plot” very loosely , as not convinced the current Corrie writers may know what it means .

It comes down to the same problem all the time. Too many writers, no plan, no cohesion, no respect for the show or the viewers.

What a lot of bollocks about Jodie visiting Sarah half an hour before Bethany. So quickly arranged! That is not the way prison visiting works. Shoddy, yet again.

Though as Claire Sweeney leaves Corrie, she’s becoming a regular on the old Brookside replays for anyone who watches them!

I can't remember if I mentioned it before but there was one line when the Shona/Jodie dad actor was in Rev that I will think of every time I see him or hear his voice. It was somewhat uncouth so I shan't repeat it at this time on a Friday morning but it is all he will forever be remembered for in this house.

Pretty much everyone on your list is perfect for the chop.

Lucy. I'm hoping she's temporary anyway but the sooner the better. Let Sarah out and put Lucy in her place. Then stop with the unrealistic prison visits. And rewind to before Kit and Beffaneh got it on.

@ElsieJay I don't mind Kirk and Sean but everyone else on your list I agree with. Plus Idris, Alya, Ross, Jodie's dad.
But if they play out the Corriedale Jodie/Graham/Kit thing in one or two episodes max Jodie can have a short reprieve.
It's a shame we don't see so much of the "elders", and that we don't have the nice old fashioned stories.
I'd love a Bet Gilroy type to take over the Rovers. And a daft couple like Mavis and Derek.

I think the problem on Corrie is that there are too many long term characters who are not trusted with a decent plot - the likes of Brian, Mary, Kirk and Sean have been reduced to one trick ponies who do the same turn every now and then. Even non joke characters like Maria hardly get a look in - asides from Big Ronnie the Baileys are not used -but newbies come in and are suddenly everywhere.

They need to decide if actors are good enough for the show long term and develop the characters, not have them waiting around to be victims terrorized by the latest panto villain.

How do the Platts have any money, David never seems to be at work and they now have freeloader Jodie, does she mind ‘arper whilst Shona works

I’d agree with that, @zanahoria - Mary used to be a great character, and Brian had potential if he’d had decent storylines occasionally.
Now it feels like they’re the comedy turns , wheeled out when the writers think they mighty , just possibly , have overdone the gangster/ bad boy/ storylines.

I like Glenda, George and Christina - all great actors, as is Todd - love how they’re keeping an eye on him in the old-school Corrie way.
Also the new family ( Eva and all ) in the Rovers, even warming to Ma - I hope they don’t waste her. The sullen schoolboy would be no great loss, however.
