Worst programme ever?

I was in by myself last night and wanted something easy to watch so I tried that new Murder in Benidorm series on C5. OMG - what a load of drivel. Makes Death in Paradise seem like a Dicken’s adaptation. Bad acting and ridiculous plot (and I do watch some crap!).
What was John Hannah thinking taking the lead role? I got about halfway through and turned it off & went to bed in disgust!

When the items are sent to a specialist upholsterer or painter or whatever, they DO charge for labour. And usually still make a profit.

It's still a piss poor programme.

It's still a piss poor programme.

My mum watched it and if I’m round hers when it’s on I’m always incredulous at the prices people pay. It can’t be real!

Well BIM just finished on a cliffhanger so they are hoping for another series. Do we need another moody detective staring into his beer glass when we can rewatch Morse?
I think Homes under the Hammer is the worst. Following some smug couple doing up a family home to turn it into an HMO.
Really loved Ann Droid mainly for the two lead actresses.

Grand designs annoys me.
The couple always spend way over budget. Always build some eco friendly house- fair enough. But, it’s always open plan with huge windows where you can see in. Hardly any storage space at all. Involves at least one tiny room which has to serve as multiple room. For example a bedroom where the bed folds away to be made into a dining room table. Imagine messing about doing that daily.
Then the woman always gets pregnant. At least one of the suppliers goes bust. There is usually some other emergency, where the man has to go away for several months leaving his pregnant wife to source an alternative supplier. Then it rains and delays all progress.
They go over budget by £150,000, but miraculously have the money to still build the house.
Then Kevin McCloud bleats on about how great the monstrous ceiling is with all the metal pipe work showing. Or how fabulous the bedroom is which doesn’t have curtains on the floor to ceiling windows. Or the house relies on heat from the sun coming through the windows as it isn’t connected to a gas supply. Plus there isn’t any storage space!

I hate any antiques programmes or doinv up houses ones.
At the end of Bargain Hunt when they kick their feet up and shout "Yes" I want to shout, No, just fuck off"

Thanks 😂
i used to love Wish You Were Here back in the day.

I met Judith Chalmers at a trade event and the real persona was as pleasant as the screen persona. Still have the photo at home somewhere.

Ghosts and Mrs. Brown's Boys. Why they get series after series when other good comedies are not recommissioned is beyond me. I thought Ann Droid was dreadful but I heard it was very popular.

😂😂😂
this made me cry laughing!
You've picked up on all the ridiculous stuff DH & I used to complain about. There’s always a light fitting 18feet up in the air, how the $€^* are you supposed to change the bulb?

We watched GD faithfully years ago when we were building our own house which is very modest and not a floor to loft window in sight.

I thought ghosts was funny, silly but funny and was copied in the US (different ghosts) - give examples, please, of good comedies in your view

We're fond of a true crime programme so thought we'd give The Railway Murders a whirl. This has to be the most boring programme ever -
Boring old posh presenter
Lots of boring "experts"
Virtually the first half was taken up with a history lesson on the railways
Not much of a story.

OH says he'll give it another go but I'm out unless I want a cure for insomnia.

SanFairyAnnie · 08/09/2026 12:29

I thought Ghosts was clever and funny and they ended the series just at the right point unlike many other series.

I have to agree, I watched an episode the other day, I'd forgotten half the jokes, it was excellent

Winderwall · 08/09/2026 18:22

Love island has to be up there! I’ve never watched an episode but scouts came to my nieces university and she auditioned, she’s stunning, she had to answer questions such as are you willing to have sex on tv? It’s cheap nasty and degrading..

@Lentilcakes and we have a new late entry!
The Box ITV
"Brand new game show hosted by Gary Lineker. Plunged into the unknown while enclosed in a box, ten celebrities emerge in mystery locations to face their fears in tricky challenges"
Utter shite
