Worst programme ever?

I was in by myself last night and wanted something easy to watch so I tried that new Murder in Benidorm series on C5. OMG - what a load of drivel. Makes Death in Paradise seem like a Dicken’s adaptation. Bad acting and ridiculous plot (and I do watch some crap!).
What was John Hannah thinking taking the lead role? I got about halfway through and turned it off & went to bed in disgust!

Sally Lindsay is such a terrible actress I don’t know how she keeps getting work, although I believe she writes this one so that’s probably why in this case. As you say, absolute drivel.

Hairdresser murders / mysteries with Sally Phillips is quite good. The policeman is very easy on the eye

Oh that is just cheese on toast, but I do like Shayne Ward! The will they/won't they between him and Catherine Tyldesley is really annoying though.

I love her as Stacey but as herself she just doesn't stop talking! Doesn't even stop for breath half the time!

As with Alf Garnett on Till Death Us Do Part, much to the horror of Johnny Speight and Warren Mitchell, I believe.

We like a true crime show but Murder by the Seaside and Cruise Ship Murders were abysmal

I think we all agree every channel 5 drama is basically shite, however must have an audience as all the NO SPOILERS threads testify. Most ITV dramas are crap, although they occasionally have the odd gem. I love the BBC and will always defend the value for money that is the license fee. They too have shite drama but this is balanced out by incredible programmes and dramas and their radio content. I have only watched Death in Paradise when visiting a relative, but it knows it is fluff and does it well. It also sells all over the world. Cannot imagine channel 5 shite doing the same

I preferred Death in Paradise when it had Ben Miller and Danny John-Jules in it.

All Creatures Great and Small on channel 5 is fab. They have the odd gem too.

Historically, ITV drama was generally better than the BBC’s. These days l think nearly all drama on the main channels is pretty terrible.

Death in Paradise I can understand the attraction of it. However as with too many other shows, the BBC carry on far too long. Other examples are Call the Midwife, the Apprentice and Strictly.

I agree that house programmes , doing them up or trying to find one are all the same and only feature the rich most of the time.
I like John Hannah, but the murder show is dire even though I like the Rosa character a lot.

It's got a huge fan base, so most definitely and demonstrably hasn't gone on for too long.

I'm surprised no one's yet mentioned the awful Two Pints of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps - a show whose basic message seemed to be that men are mostly childish sex-obsessed idiots and women should just put up with it, especially if said bloke is good looking and "cheeky".

Yes! Awful. And for some reason it's put me in mind of Not Going Out - has anyone mentioned that one?? Progressively more terrible with each series.

NGO is awful, I remember seeing a few episodes and they never shut their apartment front door and it really bothered me for some reason 😂 it’s just really banal ‘comedy’ but there is far far worse out there (Mrs browns boys being absolute top of the list of course).

I think they were trying to emulate American sitcoms with the stupid incidental music (like Friends) and weird futuristic cityscape that was meant to be London but didn't ring true at all! Have to confess a soft spot for Tim Vine though.
But yeah, obviously not on the same level of dire as Mrs Brown's Boys!

Love Island. I’ve had more entertaining headaches.

It was basically Lee what’s his name fancying the woman, and a ‘will they, won’t they’ storyline bolted on.
As if a woman like her would give him the time of day??
