The Italians really are doing well- and it proves it's not just Jannik. But success breeds success, at least for them.

It definitely was the only saving grace of the the US Open Mixed , that one of the only actual doubles pairings ended up winning it. I'm still not over the fact Katerina Siniakova wasn't even given the chance.

Well done to the Italians. I had to go out so I didn’t get to watch any.

I did enjoy Stef and Paula in the US doubles but we won’t be getting that again!

I am score watching, andI would actually really like Mirra to win the whole thing.

I expected this match to be closer. Marta is making poor tactical choices. It's windy and her only real advantage is movement, yet she's playing low margin shots and aiming for the lines. Meanwhile Mirra is just playing her game, her serve is so good now.

Will a closed roof make any difference?

I would love Mirra to win the whole thing. She’s obviously the favourite now but who knows what will happen. It will be a first Slam final for whoever gets through so nerves of the occasion could affect either or both players. Mirra does at least have the experience from 1000 event finals (as does Marta) but neither of the other potential finalists does so maybe that will work in Mirra’s favour (assuming she wins this match of course).

On this evidence, yes!

Hope Mirra can hold on to her advantage.
