I’m sure the citizens of Halle are devastated that he won’t be gracing them with his presence.

He's such a child, I bet he pulled out when he found out he didn't get a singles wild card for Wimbledon.

I am watching Queen's and Pat Cash was discussing something I was thinking about the other day- AdM is playing Denis Shapovalov- and they met when they were juniors at Wimbledon, when Denis won. I was thinking not many players win the juniors and then go in to win the senior slam at the same event.(Only 4 men have- quite a few more women have).
This prompted a quiz between Pat and Andrew Cotter .

I correctly guessed that Edberg was the player Andrew missed- but Stefan, famously, won all 4 junior slams.

The clip of Alex and Denis in 2016 in the junior singles final was amazing- they look like babies. It's no wonder AdM has grown the tache- he would still look the same .

In general it seems like junior success doesn't always translate to success on the pro tour. Denis is one of those players who was incredible as a junior, and although he's had a decent career, he's never won a big title.

Lore Musetti has pulled out of Wimbledon with the same injury that saw him miss RG. Such a shame for him. On the bright side this does mean that Matteo B is now in.

Sadly, Joe and Rajeev lost in the doubles. I'm not sure if the partnership will continue or if it was a one off.

That's a shame for Lorenzo but very happy for Matteo.

Shocking that they didn't get Stefan! He's the one I definitely do know

I'm really disappointed for Lorenzo- didn't he miss Wimbledon last year? But yes, it will mean Matteo gets in without qualifying.

Oh, Lore did play last year, lost in the first round.

Hello from sunny Greece! I haven’t been able to watch any tennis so I’ve missed out on Clare clutching her pearls at Moutet’s f-bomb amongst other things but this thread is providing me with lots of entertainment (apart from THAT picture magi) - I think I’m currently 99% rose wine and feta cheese

Sad about Lorenzo not playing Wimbledon - hopefully they’ll give Dan a wildcard - there’s a tennis podcast interview with him which should be interesting - maybe he’ll dish the dirt (or might be better if he doesn’t)

I do worry about the BBC trying to modernise their Wimbledon coverage - they will probably try to appeal to the yoof instead of just having someone who is competent and knowledgeable about current players and not butterflies or what someone’s Mum had for breakfast! (AC!)

I was fed up with the World Cup weeks ago magi and it will only get worse now it's started. I hate the assumption that every single person in the UK thinks that football is the most important thing ever! I couldn't give a flying fuck about it!! I used to work in a Swiss bank in London and even they set up rooms with tvs in for staff to watch the big football matches. Nothing for tennis, strangely enough Do they go this overboard in France magi?

Fizzy Have a great holiday! I know what you mean about being concerned about modernising Wimbledon- I'm worried about what they will come up with. Wimbledon, historically, has been all about tradition. The players like it that way- the majority of the viewers want it that way.

Magi the football is driving me nuts- though I am managing to avoid watching it, (Dh happily watches it on his computer), I agree I don't need to to hear about it on other programmes.

Andre Agassi was great when he commentated- he knew when to speak, what to say, and when to let the tennis do the talking. Unfortunately, he was stuck in a booth with AC- who was more interested in getting the gossip on who the famous people were in the crowd .

Daniil has a nosebleed. He gets a lot of nosebleeds
