A lot of the scenarios seem so far fetched in EE.

Yes, I know (I bloody worked for an 88 year old solicitor!) there are solicitors working when they’re 80 but they’re few and far between. And what pp said re client confidentiality and so on re Johnny Sausage was so true. We were never allowed to speak about cases in the pub next to our offices!

I was rewatching the flash forward episode (NYD) and I think I got a clue as to who is who. But need to rewatch. Apparently similar was done in Hollyoaks/Emmerdale by the EE producer Ben Wadey.

When Teddy bought Gray’s house he made it a condition of sale that a % of money from the sale was put aside for Jordan as he felt bad that Chelsea was losing her home. I remember the scene when he told her. I haven’t watched this week so don’t know if it’s come up but can she not access that money now? The house must have sold for well over a million so there could be a fair whack that has been accumulating interest over the last couple of years.

Re. Johnny, he does have an office. Kathy and Ian walked out of it the other day and it had Carter and Carter on the door. But still he insists on carrying out confidential client business in the cafe. I can’t remember if he used Tim’s money in the end but all his money problems seemed to have vanished overnight.

Eastie, I don’t remember Jumpers doing this, but Nicola wasn’t around at first and I can imagine him doing this.
The writers have either forgotten or Chelsea has.
She didn’t buy another place to live in, so the money must be somewhere she can access it.
They don’t do their homework do they regarding all these things that happened historically.
Maybe Nicola will remind her , if she knows about it that is! The house must be worth a fortune, Dots was and that is smaller.

If the money was for Jordan (I don't remember that at all) it might be in trust until he is 18

She should get some compensation for Jordan’s injuries ( maybe) but depends if Ian’s brief pins the entire blame on her. He was over the drink drive limit , so it might not wash. Not sure where anyone stands legally.
It will probably be fudged somehow, but I guess they need evidence that she let him run off and nobody saw that and he didn’t check behind the bin. All a bit of a mess.

Exactly, Johnny does have an office but it must be too small for him to meet clients in which is stupid. I agree his money issues have mysteriously vanished since the other guy was involved and Johnny didn’t take his money (that was true wasn’t it?).

I thought that Johnny did the take that man’s money , but he told E ‘laine that he didn’t want spend it on the business. Not sure why really, probably felt grubby how he got it. It’s not been mentioned since and those characters like Johnny and Callum and Lexi haven’t been about much.

But isn’t it tricky now that Jumpers is in jail and Nicola’s now with George? Will Jumpers still honour his agreement with Chelsea/Jordan now he’s in prison? You’d hope so as it was legally arranged. Nicola will be spitting fire over it though (hence angry and not speaking to Chelsea in NYD flash forward, that’s right isn’t it?).

Yes very strange how that vanishes into thin air.

Then again I was a bit at Ian asking his mum Kathy to remortgage the cafe the other day as he had no money. But then again he has money tied up in businesses. And lives with Kathy doesn’t he? Did Ian and Cindy rent the place in France? How did they both get to France again? So many storylines to remember so confusing!

Maybe money is why Chelsea has fallen out with Nicola. I bet jumpers didn’t do it properly or something and she needs the cash for her business especially as philanthropic George has given Eddie’s away to charity. Silly man.

Ian went off after Sharon tried to poison him.
We are meant to believe he ended up in France somehow and met his ex ( Cindy ) who was hiding after being in witness protection for nine years and had left George and the girls because someone was after her in Spain.
What she did for 9 years hasn’t been revealed and she went to live in a beautiful rental property with Ian ( and a pool ! ) until she decided she really wanted to move back to Walford. Those 9 years bug me a bit , never explained at all or where she went.

Didn't she buy it back from the ( nasty ) Panasar man for a £1 , he was most insistent on that from memory .
So I'd be giving Ian a £1 , to help him out !

If that house is Kathy’s , she could draw out some equity or something if the business isn’t worth much. She also owns the Albert. (Or she did once, not sure now )
She was going to buy the cabs and launderette once as well, but it hasn’t been mentioned for ages. Who runs those ? Anyway , she can probably help him out , but it takes time to arrange these things

@gingercat02 @the80sweregreat the episode when Teddy told Chelsea about the money was back in August 2024. I had to look up this summary to ensure I wasn't making it up!

"Upcoming episodes will see Chelsea Fox move out of No1 Albert Square after the house is sold by Gray Atkins. Once it's revealed Teddy Mitchell and his sons will be moving in, Chelsea is gobsmacked to discover Teddy made a last-minute condition in his deal to buy the house. What could it be?"

He told her that Gray had to put a chunk of the money in an account for Jordan and gave her the details so the cash should be readily available. The scriptwriters have either completely forgotten or maybe it's held in trust until he is 18 (but Jumpers said something like "use it to raise your boy" as if she had immediate access)

The house is Ian's. He bought it from Martin when Pauline died. I don't understand how a man who owns the Fish and Chips shop, the Pie shop, the market stall and I'm sure he partially owns the Laundrette, has money problems.

Kathy doesn't own the Albert anymore. She had to give it to Cindy who was blackmailing her for some reason. I can't remember if it was because she took that picture of Kathy and Harvey kissing. Or was to do with Kathy trying to kill her on Xmas day? As Oscar memorably said the other day, half the square has tried to leave her for dead lol.

Ahh, so Cindy owes the Albert ( she is never in)
Elaine was helping her out , but seems that has stopped.

Has George given Eddies money away ?
If that was given to Chelsea (George doesn't want it as it's dirty , Nic probably thinks she's earned it looking after Eddie in her house )

Maybe that's what their NYE arguements are about . Maybe Chelsea gets Eddies cash then Sheila finds a way to release the house money too.

Is Sheila like a Ritchie but without the edge ?

And:
I was cheered to see Sheila had sensible comfy lace up shoes on.
But a bit "No don't do that" when she stood outside the tube with her purse in her hand . Doesn't she read about moped phone snatching? They;d have her purse and give her a shove for good measure !
