I am so sick of sodding prawn-gate. Was it supposed to be funny? Because it wasn’t.

I agree it wasn’t funny. I found it annoying actually.

I know, I know it’s just tv lol but food poisoning can be really serious and I don’t see why they didn’t throw it all out instead of waiting for more people to get sick and then eventually gathering it up in a box.

We've already had Jean food poisoning people with sea food, it's boring now, and i can't imagine it leads anywhere, it was just supposed to be comic relief, which it wasn't. In reality, people would have gone home..

Penny in 20s and Lauren 30s. I wondered that too.

What do you mean by obsessed by Chelsea? just curious as Chelsea has hardly been in it much before last week and Lauren is too busy fighting off Mark at the moment ! She is still with Pet ahh NYD , so if she does have an affair , he doesn’t know about it , even if Max seemed to know something that episode.
Probably another red herring though.

Not an idea that had occurred to me, I'll keep an eye out. I'd forgotten about the job thing.

I think they just don't hang out which given ages etc makes sense.

The club job rivalry was two years ago, they have hardly interacted recently. I doubt either of them give Chelsea much thought, they have other fish to fry!

Its one of those things I just feel when looking at them 😒

Lauren will fall for Mark, it’s the thrill of the chase for him. Reminds me of Cindy and Ian and Wicksy back in the day. She took a while to stray as well.

I think it's the same for Lauren, the thrill of the chase. But she clearly gets bored with Mark within a few months because she's still with Peter on NYD. Was it clear whether Peter knew she'd had an affair? He didn't appear in the flashforward did he.

I thought Peter was seen walking across the square in a mood about something and someone asked if he was going to the wedding and he said no?

I don't think we see him (I've just watched the section with Lauren and Oscar)

Lauren "I'm going to the wedding which is more than he deserves. After what he's done I thought it'd be off but some people are evidently more forgiving"
Oscar "Is Peter coming"
Lauren "No"
Oscar "He needs to get over himself"
Lauren "Well he hasn't murdered dad so that's a start"

That could = Cindy has forgiven him (for Priya), but Peter has not.

Or maybe that was Jack?

Denise may lose her hair with the treatment for her cancer , so maybe that’s why we didn’t see her NYD?
I guess we can pretty much rule her out as being the bride now. The reason she runs off is to do with Jack and Jack or poss Libby or maybe because Chels is marrying Max?

We saw Peter and Lauren interact in the flash forward. After Max’s arrest Peter Jack Ian and Mark are all seen approaching Lauren and Oscar asking what’s happened. He and Lauren seemed to be perfectly fine. I don’t believe an affair happens, I think Lauren will just get really caught up in the thrill of all the dodgy car business, and mistake it for attraction to Mark but soon snap out of it.

Oh you're right, I hadn't rewatched that far into it. Peter has a couple of lines, saying he's glad Max has been arrested. He's walking across the square with a bag, he seems friendly to Lauren but she gives him an odd sort of longing apologetic look and walks off. So it isn't really clear if they are together.

I think she definitely has an affair with Mark. The only question is whether Peter found out.

Wouldn't it be strangely refreshing if someone married fancied someone else, but didn't act on it? That in itself could be a good storyline, for once. Otherwise it seems they only have to have a brief 'moment' of eyes meeting and a smile and that's it, they're off!

They aren't good at resisting temptation in Walford. And if it's your husband's brother, or your son's wife, or your ex's son - all the better 😆

Absolutely @Shellingbynight! No resistance at all. IRL as we all know, temptation is there but (usually) we avoid it where we can. I think in EE, as well as being a bit desperate for stories at times (I mean, Harvey and Kathy for goodness sake!) they like a punishment type story. So someone is unfaithful and immediately is pregnant (who's the daddy) or they are enjoying themselves with their affair partner and their child runs off (hospital and police possibilities).

I think Lauren got jealous because she has a crush. It hits you when you see them starting out with someone else, very “my best friends wedding”.

@thisoldcity Yes there's plenty of drama in illicit affairs! I agree about Harvey and Kathy, not suited at all and a very odd storyline. I still have no idea why they are together.
