Anybody else watched yet? I watched thus morning while I had the house to myself.

Enjoyed it, although cant say I like the Fauth storyline. As a book reader I found it too far fetched. As if Faith could have taught Fanny a song, that Claire sang to a baby!. A stillborn baby at that.

Lovely to see Fergus, Marsali and the children again as well.

Can I have Ian as a builder? He can certainly put a house up quickly.

Lord John needs to put a boot up Williams bum. Spoilt brat.

Im going to watch tonight. Ive just done a re watch of season 1-7 so looking forward to it.

I think I'll start on blood of my blood and john grey series when season 8 ends too

I was perplexed at the end of the last season about the song.

blibblibs · 08/03/2026 18:05

I watched and like you thought the Faith storyline is too far fetched even for Outlander.
I'm telling myself the show and the book are completely different entities and will just enjoy it for what it is.
I've watched the very first 3 episodes this afternoon and it was so much better then.

Megsdaughter · 10/03/2026 20:04

The little girl playing Fanny is very good. Looking forward to her story arc, would like to hope we see who she really is.

If she does turn out to be Claire and Jamie's Grandaughter, it means by William sleeping with Jane, it means he slept with his niece!

Im finding this Frank stuff really weird. I can see why he would have researched Jamie's life and even written about it in a book and I know he was in a pretty bitter place before he died but I can't imagine any historian writing a book which mused about how a deceased persons wife would feel after their death. And if he'd done all that research I wonder if he knew that brianna had gone back in time.

Abra1t · 22/03/2026 18:24

I’m watching! Is there another thread going? Seems quiet on here.

Megsdaughter · 23/03/2026 08:32

Think this is the only thread.

Loved the arguement in the bedroom. Claire's expressions and her jerk of the chin to get Jamie to undo her laces.

The Director was brilliant in the way they carried on arguing, sitting back to back on the bed.

Love little Frances, think she is a wonderful actress.

Funniest scene was Claire and Brianna, their faces made me laugh. Have never been a fan of Sophie Skelton, but she has been good this season.

Someone mentioned a “John Grey” series…what is this?
I watched and LOVED Blood of my Blood, more please!

Oldandcranky · 23/03/2026 09:20

I'm intrigued by this faith/fanny storyline, can't wait to see where it goes. Brianna hasn't really had much of a storyline since returning this season and I really liked her last season so I hope she gets something soon.
I also love blood of my blood!

Abra1t · 23/03/2026 09:22

I've warmed to Brianna over the series. I was gripped by how she and Jane in the last series resembled one another and thought it was a clear point being made about parentage and Faith, etc, but we shall see.

Megsdaughter · 28/03/2026 14:49

Loved seeing Buck back. I'm hoping he turns back up in book 10 as well. Felt he just seemed to disappear in book 9.

Ive read book 9 a few times now and find the changes from it not to bad, although not sure about the Ridge is more Loyalist than Rebel.

Still loving Fanny, such an actress. Tge scenes with Claire are lovely.

Wish it had been a longer scene when William and Brianna met again. Maybe we will see more. Im hoping we see more connection.

Im loosing track of the fraser family tree. So fergus is son of count st Germain and amelie Beauchamp (presumably an ancestor of Claire's) and she was sold to a brothel in france where fergus was born. Does this mean we are going to find out that amelie is somehow connected to Jaime and claire's daughter faith since we're being led to believe that she lived after being born in france.

I'm sort of losing interest a bit and am only tuning in to see how it ends.

RipplePlease · 29/03/2026 09:44

I’m also a little bit lost with the family connections…is Fanny Claire’s daughter or granddaughter?

RipplePlease · 29/03/2026 09:45

It also doesn’t help that there are about 3 or 4 actors who look very much alike! Henry et al.

Megsdaughter · 29/03/2026 11:06

Fanny' mother was called Faith. Claire and Jamie think she might have been their stillborn daughter Faith (!)

Think this arc is just too far fetched plus if Faith is their daughter, then Jane, Fanny's dead sister would have slept with William (Jamie's illigitimate son, are you keeping up?) Who would be her half Uncle.

I’m glad you said that! I get confused, too.

Megsdaughter · 05/04/2026 13:25

William does keep choosing the wrong girls dosn't he.

Is he going to tell his Cousin he has 'had carnal knowledge of his wife' too?

Loved this episode, loved how much if book 9 was in it and how the show has been changed to fit it all in.

Only 4 episodes left, not sure how the rest of the book will fit in though.

I think it’s implied in the books that he did or at least thought it possible, as he’d brought her up doing things like being able to shoot etc which she’d found strange but came in very handy.

Shinyandnew1 · 05/04/2026 14:11

Love the books and the show but the whole ‘Faith lived’ stuff is just ridiculous and unnecessary though.

ScullyD · 05/04/2026 14:29

I’m confused about an aspect of the last episode. Why didn’t Claire rebuke Cunningham’s mother when she was going off about what a traitor Jamie is? Just sat there and kept having a drink with her.

surely the old Claire would have thrown her out or at least delivered some sharp words?

paulhollywoodshairgel · 05/04/2026 15:31

Do we think that Claire’s parents are alive somewhere?? That Jamie’s ‘brother’ William was in fact Claire’s brother given to Brian and Ellen to raise to protect him?? I hope they do link the two shows and Claire finds out what happened to elder parents. Also did roger remember something else about his dad when he was hit by that blast??

Florabella · 06/04/2026 09:12

I hate the Faith storyline too. There are so many things to tie up in the last series that it makes so sense to add in this new one that wasn’t in the books.

I am pretty sure the production team have said that there won’t be any cross over between Outlander and BOMB

Aiming4Optimistic · 06/04/2026 09:43

Where are people watching this? I saw the early series but then I think it went to pay per view. I have Amazon prime, Netflix, Disney, Sky and now HBO (the free one that comes with Sky), so hopeful it's on one of those!

ScullyD · 06/04/2026 11:46

@Aiming4Optimistic it’s on Amazon prime.

Aiming4Optimistic · 06/04/2026 11:49

Thank you @ScullyD

WhyDoesItAlways · 06/04/2026 12:20

I had to subscribe to MGM through amazon. Think its £5 a month so I got it a few months back to binge all the way from season 1. Will cancel again after the last episode this series.
