Anybody else watched yet? I watched thus morning while I had the house to myself.

Enjoyed it, although cant say I like the Fauth storyline. As a book reader I found it too far fetched. As if Faith could have taught Fanny a song, that Claire sang to a baby!. A stillborn baby at that.

Lovely to see Fergus, Marsali and the children again as well.

Can I have Ian as a builder? He can certainly put a house up quickly.

Lord John needs to put a boot up Williams bum. Spoilt brat.

I've been struggling to watch the last couple years but this season I'm alternating watching with just reading episode recaps and not feeling like I'm missing anything
How can there be only 3 episodes left?
It's so boring
The faith storyline is just rubbish and distracting from everything else

WhyDoesItAlways · 23/04/2026 20:59

Not Fergus! Agree that Lauren Lyle is just excellent, my heart broke for her when she returned to the ridge and broke down when she got off the cart.

Don't know what has happened with Claire and Jamie but their chemistry seems off. I get they've aged so not at it like rabbits but they don't even seem particularly bothered with each other anymore. Maybe PP is correct that the actors are just over it now.

I remember being gutted when Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended but seeing the reactions of the cast at the time I realised that it's really just a job for them.

Sam and Cait have been at it for a very long time and I suspect it's a bit like when you have given in your notice at work, you start checking out before you actually leave.

Because I have had to pay a monthly subscription I have taken the opportunity to rewatch the early episodes. It feels like a completely different show to be honest.

The newer members of the cast and those who haven't been around for a while are probably just less jaded.

Frances Tomelty was immense and as mentioned above Lauren Lyle just broke your heart. The girl playing Fanny is also excellent.

ProudWomanXX · 25/04/2026 19:49

Well.

That was a much better written episode than last week.

Still lots of Faith nonsense.

No idea how they will cram in the various story arcs to any kind of conclusion in only two more episodes, though.

Will say more when more posters say they have watched it!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 25/04/2026 20:01

They can't reveal THAT about Fanny without it coming in useful at a later point.

Megsdaughter · 25/04/2026 20:29

Did anyone notice that Roger was calling Jamie Mr Fraser to Fanny. Do Bree and Roger not know that Fanny is their niece?

This week's was better but I know what the poster who said Sam & Catriona are just not delivering this season means.
The thing that annoyed me the most last week wasn't Fanny or Fergus, both of which are kind of in keeping with their characters. It's was William walking in on Lord John. It was utterly preposterous and just wouldn't have happened. Lord John would never have been that lacks even with Percy. I'm looking forward to it being over and I never thought I'd say that.
Once it's finished and I've finished the book I'm currently reading I'm going to go back to reading the real story from the beginning and I might even crack open the 25th anniversary special editions that I have sitting in my bookcase.

Megsdaughter · 26/04/2026 09:47

I started the books again about 3 months ago and have just finished book 9 ( which in my opinion needed a good edit) so much better than the TV show.

Agree about Sam and Caitriona, stand outs this series has been Lauren and Florrie. Felt that Sophie has finally learnt her craft and done a good job. The scene with Lauren sat on the floor was heart wrenching. Richard always gives a good solid performance. Not sure about Charles, or it might just be I find his character so whiney and petulant. Loved him being told off by Claire, felt it was time someone told him.

Only two episodes left and a lit to wrap up in that time, cant work out how Jamie can fight at Kings Mountain then go with William to rescue Lord John in that time. Plus wrap up the rediculus Faith storyline. Are they going to send Fanny through tge stones?

I haven’t been watching the last few episodes-but have read various comments about it and the plot sounds bizarre! I’ve read the books (more than once!) and the story is just so good already, there was no need to mess with it :(

If Faith was only a couple of years maybe older than Brianna (had she lived, which she didn’t), was she really supposed to be old enough to have a daughter Jane’s age?

KiIIingMeDeftly · 26/04/2026 10:26

I've lost track of how old Brianna is meant to be! Early 30s? So if Faith had lived she'd be about 35/36? And Jane was around 18 when she died? I guess it's possible if Faith married at 16 or 17.

WhyDoesItAlways · 26/04/2026 13:16

Wonder if the last episode is going to be a loooong one to fit everything in. Ive totally lost te plot now though. I get the fergus/st Germain/percy think but totally missed who the guy was who clocked lord john over the head?

Abra1t · 26/04/2026 13:40

I had to google on him as I didn't understand his role and I think the implication is he's a timetraveller, possibly connected to the Brianna storyline in the 'present'. One of the men from when she was working at the power station?

Megsdaughter · 26/04/2026 14:51

Yep, he is, he also sent William onto the Great Dismal (where he got injured and met Ian).

No, the guy who Brianna worked with was Rob Cameron who Buck killed. Unless Captain Ferguson is another one?

I strongly suspect that Buck is the one who will die in battle and there'll be some sort of confusion that results in people thinking he's Jamie.

I don’t think Rob Cameron was killed, was he? Doesn’t he end up in the Lallybroch cellar with a broken leg after Brianna pushed him down there, and then when they go back and check on him later, he’s gone?

aintnospringchicken · 26/04/2026 20:13

Which channel is showing Outlander please ?

BorgQueen · 26/04/2026 21:57

MGM on Amazon prime

ProudWomanXX · 26/04/2026 23:13

In the TV series, Buck killed Rob Cameron. (Good for Buck,!)

ProudWomanXX · 26/04/2026 23:16

In the Book timeline, Rob doesn't get killed.

WhyDoesItAlways · 27/04/2026 13:03

Yep, latest episode Buck tells Roger that he travelled to the 80's and killed Cameron. Perfect crime really!

I just looked up captain Richardson and there's a bit of backstory with john grey and William that I must have missed/forgotten. So hard to keep up with these characters, particularly the ones who time travel.

Ah, I’ve not been watching the last bit so that makes sense!

Richardson (Ezekiel?) seems to be a TT as well in the books-isn’t it him with the botched plastic surgery and the wonky ears?!

Yes it is. He was the archeologist who did a dig at Lallybroch (and was friendly ,in the SNP , with Gellis Duncan)
