Anybody else watched yet? I watched thus morning while I had the house to myself.

Enjoyed it, although cant say I like the Fauth storyline. As a book reader I found it too far fetched. As if Faith could have taught Fanny a song, that Claire sang to a baby!. A stillborn baby at that.

Lovely to see Fergus, Marsali and the children again as well.

Can I have Ian as a builder? He can certainly put a house up quickly.

Lord John needs to put a boot up Williams bum. Spoilt brat.

I wonder if Diana G will ever finish the series now or if readers will be left in limbo like the way they were after Game of Thrones finished? GRRM still hasn't written the last book!

Speaking of GoT, how many shows have now done the "Jon Snow comes back to life with a gasp" thing?

I hope she does!

TBH, there are a lot of characters I don't really find that interesting: pretty well the whole Lord John storyline cast, except for when they directly involve Jamie and Claire. Ian and his romantic storyline doesn't interest me that much. Brianna and Roger are OK in small doses. I actually liked the Jane and Fanny and Faith storyline.

And I really liked the Cunningham storyline and wish Mrs C had stayed on at The Ridge.

But I know I am a minority on this!

There are a hell of a lot of extracts from Book 10 on her website!

As are there of the next GoT book on GRRM's website, but still no sign of the book itself!

I didn’t clock that Jamie was wearing trousers when he opened his eyes rather than his war kilt

He wasn't..You could see his bare knees and boots and kilt

Yes someone else pointed that out further up thread,, which I acknowledged! I was deceived by fake news

Right, just rewatched the end, again (!)

SPOILER

It looks to me like Claire dies, certainly her hand falls away from Jamie. Blue light flash between them.
Cut to him as The Ghost, the recap of their lives together.
Back to them lying on the hill top on the stone (which looks exactly the same as The Stone from Craig na Dun, only lying down, as in an obviously dressed stone, not a natural rock)

Clairs hair is now white.

They both open their eyes at the same time , Claire's hand moves and there's a gasp of breath.

Cut to black screen.

Sounds like I should maybe rewatch the end whilst I still have 1 day left on free MGM offer!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 18/05/2026 18:52

I'm rewatching season 1 while I've still got my subscription and they are both so young and beautiful, with sizzling chemistry.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 18/05/2026 18:57

I mean, they're both still extremely good looking and the sex scene from the finale proves they've still got the chemistry. And that the ageing makeup was only applied from the neck up!

Suggestion from another thread!

He was dead and visiting her as a spirit, and remembering their lives together

KeeleyJ · Yesterday 17:29

Did Marseli every get the inheritance on behalf of the now dead Fergus?

Yes, I totally think that he was doing that when Frank saw him. But then Claire magicked him back to life!

That was my suggestion and what it looked like to me...

Although I didn't see the blue light, I did also interpret the last scenes as Claire dying/almost dying from grief and her hair turning white with the effort of the magic to save him (and if she died perhaps it also brought her back round).

Found this last series dull the point of being unwatchable but wanted to see it through. Liked the way it was eventually tied up, but I think Jamie's last words should have stayed as 'dinna fash'...'forgive me sassenach' seemed a bit too syrupy for me!

Edited

Hope you didn't mind me quoting you!

I have extended my MGM+ sub at special offer of 99p per month so will have time to rewatch. (not the battle scene that was really boring - sorry)

ANd I know upthread I talked about were the stones time travellers as well, but then after thought no that's really silly thing to say.

The whole point as that, with no discernable method, there are rocks that are the portals to time travel.

Maybe they all do look the same, but some are upright, some on their side etc..
