I'm watching the women's speed skating now.
Kazakhstan has a very snazzy outfit.

I saw a single one once at an antique fair for £10. Really wish I’d bought it! They are beautiful things.

I was watching something on the Beeb that said all the curling stones for the Olympics and World Championships, plus dozens of national teams, come from one Scottish island.

Thank the person who mentioned it on Twitter. I thought they were going to make me pay £30.99 for a month of TNT sports. And I refused to do it.

Just done my homework and watched ‘Cool Running’s’. Superb film.

Anyone watching the speed skating?

Yes! I love the medal winner holding her son and wrapping themselves in the flag. Also the shots of him practicing his lunges - so cute. Found it instructive to look at their faces which you can easily do in an event like this. All of them seemed to be "in the zone" - that flow state where they are masters of their abilities.

We have a rule in this house, that whenever Olympics is on and you need to leave the room, you have to do it in the style of whatever sport is on the tv.

I have just speedskated to the kitchen.

We were just talking about the banisters. Ours are elderly, wobbly and do not meet current standards for height. Bit like me really. I shall avoid using them as a prop.

I'll need the tea tray ready for later. Is Luge headfirst or feetfirst?
