They need to make their minds up one way or the other, don't they? Ice skating and the women's gymnastics are the only sports where people don't wear sportswear to compete. Either it is a performance or it isn't. If ice skaters are not going to be marked on artistry but only on the technical difficulty side, what's with the fancy costumes?

if you watched iplayer recently there was an article on John Curry, from 1976, he wanted to do more ballet style but at the time they wanted more gymnastics in the figure skating
