I've gone back to TNT. Bloody BBC- and people wonder why they are losing the rights to cover stuff.

It's not even as though they are showing any action- it's a chat in the studio!

Just settling down for the Men’s Downhill, hoping for a Swiss 123, with Odermatt for the gold.

I can't understand the scoring of curling, but it cones ahead of ice hockey in my "Olympic things to watch" list.

I want to see some figure skating...when's it on the BBC?

Yup. I’m on discovery+ now. Wouldn’t be so bad if they’d cut strait to the skiing but it doesn’t start for another 5 mins.

The next bit of the team event figure skating is on tonight- men /Ice dance free programmes, from around 7pm. Whether it will be shown on the BBC, I don't know.

There has been some really weird camera work so far. The big air qualifying kept missing landings. The skating I saw yesterday wasn’t great. People kept going off screen.

It's ironic, really, because that was my experience of TNT from when they took over the French Open coverage last year. Spent way more time talking about matches , and missing the start of half of them, than showing them. .

The bugbear with TNT, is the ads.

And I expected this match to be over in the 7th end, really, but Canada have pulled it back a bit.

My problem is the cost. But their Olympic coverage is available with a£3.99 basic discovery+

canada are catching up!

What happens if they actually run out of thinking time way before the end of the match?

Thanks for the thread, speed skating is my favourite event especially the long track.

We missed a lot of the curling because we stupidly thought the Olympics would actually start after the opening ceremony!

I love the curling, the ice skating/dancing, the snowboarding, anything where they slide down an hill in a bobsleigh/on a tea tray and the skiing, especially the one over the bumps which must absolutely kill their knees!

Enjoying the men's downhill now! The cat enjoyed watching the curling 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️

I love the curling but are the curlers really “full time athletes” as stated by the BBC commentator? <ducks and runs>

I mean - it’s not physically taxing is it. Mentally yes, requires amazing hand-to-eye coordination and a very clever strategical brain, all of which I’m in awe. But athleticism??

Loving the men’s downhil now. Loved the ski aerial stuff but hated the commentary on TNT!
