Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

I guess the thing with the questions is that whilst you might not get a truthful answer from them it is an opportunity to catch them out. Tell them something that is useful to them (even if not true) and then see if they use it.

An opportunity to reveal a secret relationship maybe? If you tell them something you know no one (or maybe 1 other person!) knows and then see if it feeds back to the group in some way and follow the trail?

Of course it could totally backfire but if you know you can’t trust them then why not take a chance to lay a trap?

I'm getting myself confused about recruitment.

Do the traitors HAVE to recruit after a traitor banishment & can they choose to do it at any time?

IIRC at earlier stages of the game they can choose to murder or recruit, but Claudia wouldn't let them go two nights without a murder so maybe they'll go straight to the turret from the chapel. If one of the traitors gets outed at the next round table, they'll be down to one and recruitment would be inevitable then.

Next series I'd like them to use a wider span of the alphabet when it comes to the contestants' first names.

Rachel, Reece, Ross, Roxy.

Jack, Jade, James, Jessie, Judy.

Too confusing for me.

Edited

I have literally just realised that Jack and James are different people 🤦‍♀️

This series has been a bit slow to start but The Downfall of Fiona was glorious. She seemed exactly the same slippery, smug egotistical person on uncloaked. Yet some of them (eg Stephen) seemed to like her / maybe those that are less good judges of character? I noticed that lots of them said things like ‘what a character’ ‘what a woman’ rather than actually saying anything nice.

I think they have a tendency to describe any older woman as ‘amazing’, ‘what a woman’ etc. Fiona played into the stereotype of what a 25 year old thinks a 60+ woman would be like.

JaneJeffer · 10/01/2026 09:09

It’s really annoying me how they seem to think that if the banished faithfuls had accused someone of being a traitor then that person is a traitor! It makes no sense.

I think it was Sam who did a great job of pointing this out, but everyone seemed to ignore him.

PinkPanther57 · 10/01/2026 09:26

KittyHigham · 10/01/2026 08:44

I'm confused as to why the "asking questions" role is being presented as a prize or advantage for the faithfuls? Given the Traitors can lie, there's no useful information they can hope to gain.
It is of course, great entertainment. I like that it's given Matthew the chance to emerge from the interchangeables, but by showing himself to be a clever thinker, surely he's put a target on himself?
The same with Harriet. She's so clever and has Rachel in her sights, so I can't wait to hear her questions. How will she try and gain from the encounter without giving away her suspicions about Rachel?
I wonder if the potential disadvantages of the 'prize' were becoming clear to Harriet and that's why she offered it to Roxy?

H could use the questions to put Traitors off scent eg: ‘Am I right in thinking one of you is Jade’?

Try to draw attention away from obvious intellect?

SoScarletItWas · 10/01/2026 09:28

whataguddle · 10/01/2026 08:48

The questions to the Traitors is point less as they can just lie, it’s a bit of a waste of time.
Harriet is very shrewd she knows Rachel is a Traitor but will have to be careful how she plays it.
Why is Jessie obsessed with avenging Ross it’s weird and annoying.
When did Amanda say she’d had a facelift? She was quite manly I thought not feminine in any way.
Who was the poster that said about Reece going before we knew?? What the heck …
Roxy is so dull hope she goes soon.

Which Amanda had the facelift?

Amanda the Welsh ex-player who was on Uncloaked last night?

Not Amanda the banished current player (lesbian; ex detective, dresses like a man on an outdoor retreat)?

Whizzywhisk · 10/01/2026 09:28

Fiona has the energy of a MN mother in law who creates drama over Christmas every year

Can you try to keep watch on where everyone is at given times in the house? Some disappear at different times - traitors? Where is the confessional set? Where is turret? Snoop.

That’s a good idea & strategy I think. Can you make something up? Within rules?

They don’t sleep in the castle, they’re taken off in the cars to hotels. The traitors then come back ‘in the middle of the night’ (or are driven round the block for 10 minutes, lol) and do the turret.

I believe confessionals/diary rooms are filmed at the hotel - we know this because murdered players read their letter in the morning instead of being picked up and driven to breakfast. It’s the editing where they splice clips in that makes diary room bits look more current to the order of the day’s events.

Seasidewalker · 10/01/2026 09:35

The Fiona situation has been quite enlightening for me. Without being too outing to avoid having to NC. I work in a local government compliance type role (no, I'm not a senior detective 🤣)

I interact with people like Fiona, oddly often older women (of which I am one so no ageism from me) and they do recreate reality and point-blank lie about what they have/ haven't done and I then find myself having to point that out at which point they kick off, claim outrage at being challenged, I'm then treated as a baddie!

Watching that play out with Fiona/Rachel was really interesting and then seeing her on Uncloacked.

CharlotteRumpling · 10/01/2026 09:41

We had the " everyone is related' last year too. And the year before.
My.theory is that Matthew is Rachel's husband. Or Jack is Stephen's boyfriend. Or Faraaz is Harriet's son.
Why not! 😀

I’ve heard the turret is also a set at the hotel. Not sure if the hotel part is true, but I think it’s true that it’s a set and they’re not actually filming in one of the castle’s turrets.

2024 Minah has a video on her insta saying they also had days off when they would see the welfare and MH support team. She wasn't allowed to go for a long run (possibly risky in the highlands anyway) but one of the production team said she could do laps around the field while he played Taylor Swift from his phone for her 😂.

beasmithwentworth · 10/01/2026 09:45

Questioning the logistics of the faithfuls leaving the castle to question the Traitors.

So Stephen and rachel have to be no where to be seen in the castle whilst they are doing their church bit.
Matthew leaves to do his then comes back. Fine. Then Harriet leaves to do hers and comes back.
Do they not wonder where rachel is (and Stephen to a certain extent) and why she doesn’t leave to do hers (and talk to herself 😂) and come back. Unless they are all kept in individual holding pens whilst all of this is going on!

This is really far field but I heard that Sam is related to Ed Gamble 😂 I don’t think I believe it but I’ve heard it several times.

I've no idea if they're related but I was sure it was Ed on the train in the first episode. I thought he was travelling to the castle with the contestants!
So I can easily see why that rumour is going around.
At least it makes him stand out from the other youngish men!

Thanks - makes sense. I’d imagine some are in same hotel? I’d be watching if so…

beasmithwentworth · 10/01/2026 09:50

They are all in their own rooms in the same hotel and heavily ‘guarded’ apparently.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 10/01/2026 01:44

would love to know where this is from 😂

I think it was Alyssa from the very first series. Apparently she was imitating Claudia saying "hello traitors" as a joke but of course all the faithful had never heard it so they didn't get it - and then it was obvious.

But that was never broadcast as the reason, some other thing 'came up' at the round table and she was out.

When is the outcome known to all? I am amazed they stop leaks. Are those who leave aware of how things develop after absence?

ScaredOfFlying · 10/01/2026 09:53

Unanimous chorus of “Bullshit!” in my living room when Fiona claimed on Uncloaked that she knew all along that Rachel was telling the truth about Amanda’s secret.

It was SO obvious her ego was bruised by Amanda not telling her. Did anyone notice that, on the previous day’s Uncloaked, Amanda was asked by Ed if she did know about Fiona’s family being “coppers” and Amanda was like “yeah, she did tell me that, whatevs”, clearly it wasn’t a remotely interesting or significant fact to her.

Fiona is clearly intending to monetise the shit out of her 15 minutes of fame and I suspect that was her plan from day one. She tried a bit of stand up comedy with the burner phone bollocks. Leave it to the professionals Love, Dawn French you ain’t.
