The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew.

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

And yes I agree how do you manage to fake a death just like that? Surely there would need to be an entire team of people involved in order to get away with it. All that just for Becky and her awful haircut.

I agree even with a guilty plea she wouldn't get sentenced that fast. And what exactly did she plead guilty to anyway? Just the kidnap? Surely now they know she faked her death and is an embezzler, there would be a huge investigation before she could be sentenced for that.

The entire plot is in the realms of fantasy.

There seems to be so many holes in the storyline.

Why were the gang only after Becky and not Costello when they had both stolen the money?

How did the brothers not see that it wasn’t Becky they had run over? As long term criminals seem to know police officers faces generally in soaps.

How did the brothers being locked up allow Becky to come out of hiding? Because gangs who make big money (that could have funded Becky and Costello’s huge purchases) are usually huge like Harvey and his cronies, and crime doesn’t stop when a couple are behind bars.

And how the hell did Costello stage her fake death alone? Because wouldn’t general PCs have attended the scene of the homeless girls death and seen it wasn’t somebody they worked with?

We need a Corrie scriptwriter to come along and do an AMA thread! 🤣

Just to change tack with confusing storylines, I must have missed an episode (or maybe not knowing Corrie) but was there any follow-up to the Will attacking Daniel in the ginnel and a homeless man being arrested thanks to Mrs Doyle planting evidence on him?

We should probably stop pointing out the holes in the story in case another rogue scriptwriter comes along, picks up the loose yarn and weaves it into another version of the whole fandango. Let some relative of convenient homeless dead-dead woman figure out the whole story and push Becky down a long flight of stairs, preferably in one of those plot devices that happen offstage.

I just googled it and it makes a bit more sense now you’ve mentioned him, he was killed and that was why Becky was able to come back.

I think the Will storyline was to show how much he detests Daniel, and also that he and Ma Driscoll are kindred spirits when it comes to casual acts of violence. I'm waiting for Megan to be found dead at the bottom of the stairs, then we can play 'guess the killer' and Swain can arrest someone innocent.

And remember when Carla went to visit one of Mason's brothers in prison to try and get information, and he said to her Tia Wardly is all he's giving her.
So Mason's brothers knew it wasn't Becky that was killed. It's all so confusing and nothing makes much sense

Another massive plot hole. Shona had a brain injury and couldn’t remember anything including David and the kids but seems to now fully remember Jodie!

They know this embarrassing, which is why they ended it with the super fast hearing and Becky getting sent down for twelve years, that was embarrassing too but they have bitten the bullet

I wish Peter would come back for Carla. She's so dull since she began wearing big stompy wellington boots and being a lesbian.

I've worked in with people with ABIs and that's totally possible in my experience.

That has reminded me of the phone call Megan received last night. Did we see who it was from or is that two characters receiving nuisance calls from unknowns (to us) in one half hour episode?

In his 7 years there’s been Sinead (his actual mum, god rest her), Nicky (wearer of Sinead’s cardies), Bethany, Daisy, Bethany again, Daisy again and now this new one whose name escapes me. It’s getting ridiculous.

@LesserSpottedCharacter we don't know who the call was from, but my guess is that it is another of her underage victims who she has dumped (or has tried to dump).

I can't believe Bertie is 7. I feel like we last saw him on his first day at school!

Thank you to those that have explained the Becky/ Costello storyline - it’s been going over my head from the start.

I think it’s because Daniel barely seems to look after Bertie because he seems to prioritise women!

No Corrie tonight because of stupid football. So annoying!

He usually prioritizes women who he can guilt trip into looking after Bertie.

Soon he will be telling Megan Trainer that she can pick Bertie up from school and babysit him and that she is lucky and honoured that he even asked her. After a few weeks it will be "you're like a mum to him" when he nicks off somewhere leaving her holding the Bertie.
