The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew.

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

Just watched tonight's episode on YouTube ( less ads).
No spoilers, but felt it was a good episode.
Bizarre thought came to my mind...weight loss. Surprised that weight loss is never or rarely mentioned in Corrie....not even weight loss injections which are increasingly common.

Sam really does have a rabbit in the headlights vibe! That worked okay when he was 10, but now he's 14 it's becoming weird 😆

I would have thought there are a lot of safeguarding rules nowadays about coaching. She seems to spend a lot of alone-time with 16 year olds, surely someone would have noticed (other than Sam!)

I think Megan is very experienced at what she does...and is able to deflect any accusations from Sam. She knows there is no proof at this stage.
However, Police would be able to check phone records ,etc. One for Kit!

She certainly talks a good job. Schools are such gossip mills I can't believe there aren't rumours, but maybe that is why she left her previous school.

It does seem as if Megan the siren has moved around a bit. Hopefully Sam will tell someone or she’ll be found out. What she is doing is awful

I wonder if Sam or Will nay confide in someone random like Sally or Tim, what was the point of Tim and his younger days with the grooming woman otherwise, that story was plopped in for a purpose?

The police really need a security camera in that guinnel (alley). All the dodgy stuff gets discussed there!

Although she does so many daft things like moving him across the country to get a job at his new school, showing up at his for xmas, moving into a flat with his step auntie and all the chats in the ginnel

There was a couple of conversations about taking weight loss tablets between Bethany and Hope. When Hope was being trolled by Ruby (unknowingly at the time), she spent time with Bethany having her nails, hair done etc. Hope was being told (by Ruby) that she was fat and ugly so bought some miracle working tablets online. Bethany gave her the whole talking to.

@zanahoria yes there quite a bit of evidence for anyone bothering to look. And anyway someone only has to mention it to Will and he spills his guts, he can't wait to tell everyone!

Yeah, I have been wondering just lately if this is going to resurface. (The Tim and the older lady' storyline.)

I think it’s the whole point of the storyline - to highlight to Tim that although he saw it as harmless, it really wasn’t. I think when the Megan/Will storyline blows apart it will be about both Tim and Will coming to terms with the fact they were groomed/taken advantage of/victims of a paedo. I think Tim needs to have a Birds Eye view of how young he was when he was taken advantage of to see it was wrong.

Yes I agree, Tim will find out/get involved somehow and the two stories will meet.

The actor who played Craig lost a load of weight, which was lucky as fat Craig was struggling with his police fitness test.

Same with Eileen but it was never mentioned. I assume Sue Cleaver did not want a weight loss plot as it would have put extra pressure on her that she did not need

When they have done plots with older men preying on young girls they have gone for two archtypes - the absolute evil creep like Nathan grooming Bethany or the hapless irresponsible fool like John Stape. There is probably at least some truth in those that made them recognisable characters but I am not sure what an older women who preys on young boys looks like, not sure if many people do, there is not stock character as there is with men. It makes doing this plot very difficult but probably would have helped if they had just started at the beginning and not introduced the pair of them after the affair had already started.

I only restarted watching Corrie last spring around time when Eileen left for Thailand and poor Craig died. Did not realise Craig's weightloss was a Corrie storyline.

She really does look like Cardie girl! And he got her a job at the school too! Actually I think her character is coming into her own more now we know it’s not just a one off.
