The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew.

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

Sorry if I've left anything out. I'm sure we'll all catch up soon.

Yes it was weird wasn't it? Not least because it happened on the same day. (Earlier in the week...) On current January 2026 Corrie, and one of the December 2007 episodes shown in Classic Corrie in the afternoon. I wonder if it was planned, or just a weird coincidence?

I felt like I used to feel, when my DC lived at home, and they had cups of tea and coffee and 'balanced' them on the arm of the sofa or armchair. Teetering on the edge, close to falling off onto the laptop powerpack, and the multi-socket plug unti that had the plugs in to the TV, the internet, the satellite TV box etc! 😬

Why is Sally talking to Carla about her marital problems? Sally used to have actual proper friends like Gail. The only thing I liked about those scenes was Carla’s hair.

What did I miss about Shona trying to find their dad. Their dad was surely the cause of most of their problems.

So it looks as if we may have now met the father of Megan’s baby. She was almost panto levels of shifty around whatever his name is.

Jodie and Carl are going to make a gruesome coupling. I wonder if Jodie was involved in modern slavery, she was tied up in the van, and then she had a scene out of nowhere with Bethany who offered a listening ear. Bethany was involved in a slavery storyline way back.

There are so many villains in Corrie now. Carl, Theo, Megan, Ma Driscoll, probably Jodie.

The Summer actress really is doing a brilliant job in the Billy storyline.

I like Summer but wish they would give something other to do than dead dads.

We need Todd to stay alive.

I would like to see Summer scanning her blood sugar sensor from time to time, just as part of her daily life. They only seem to remember her diabetes when they want to make some kind of drama out of it.

Yes Summer's diabetes is only used for drama, when she's about to collapse.

If they were going to have a storyline about an athletics coach grooming teenagers, they really ought to have put money in the budget to show some actual training. Instead all we get is hurried talks in the ginnel or at a bus stop.

Is it always daylight in Weatherfield? Surely there's some way of making it look dark?
Sam would need to go directly to Mrs Crawshaw with such important information. And Dr Gadass will need to look after Harper surely. Some good could come of all this.

Acting like nothing had ever happened with Undead Becky, and Carla being kidnapped and tied up and gagged and locked in a storage container. (For like, a week or more!!!) I would have taken a month to even begin to recover from that

yes at least in Enders they gave Bianca a small bit of PTSD after she was locked up in the storage container for ages… although still not enough!!

Who was the boy with the glasses who came out the shop and heard Will talking about her?
Is he a random or one of the character’s boys ?

That was Sam, Nick’s son. He did look a bit different though- I think it’s been a while since he was last seen on screen and he’s grown up a bit!

I only recognised Sam from his voice. He's really grown up and lost that little boy look now.

So let's have random a off the person off the street work in a cafe! I snorted with laughter when Jodie just stepped behind the counter to run the cafe.
The coffee machine would be a complete puzzle to me and as for all the cooking involved!

I worried about Jodie being left in charge of the till!!

There’s no way in real life you’d let some random run the cafe if only for an hour or 2. Health and safety for one.
