The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew.

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

Sorry if I've left anything out. I'm sure we'll all catch up soon.

I must admit I am still getting used to the half hour long episodes. We have had the hour long ones now for a few years. (Maybe 6 or 7 years...?) I am feeling like I need more at the end of half an hour! But it's on almost every week night now, so I don't have long to wait to the next one usually!

And the Classic Corrie episodes are half an hour and I'm fine with that, so I think I'll quickly get used to the half hour ones of 'current' Corrie.

I thought that too. I think he has had issues with alcohol and narcotics maybe...? I don't know if there is anything else going on.

He looked really rough on the last episode (Friday's.) Really worn and haggard. He looked very ill.

I noticed a while back (and I think I said so at the time) that he looked 'small' too, compared to George and Todd. (I think it was those 2 he was with at the time.) Not just on the short side - which he is and always has been - but like (for want of a better word) wizened... I know a number of people his age, (and older than him,) and they look nothing like this. Even those in their 70s, 80s, and even their 90s look less worn and haggard.... I do wonder what's wrong with him (Michael Le Vell) and I hope he's OK.

I used to FF through most of the hour long episodes but now watch the full 30 mins, so I never really watched for an hour anyway!

He's had well publicised addiction problems, mainly alcohol.

I think part of the reason he looks so 'old' is that Kev is constantly in scenes with Abi who is 16 years younger than him and has had every enhancement in the book. But it's great he's still able to work, nothing wrong with his acting. He's still the same angry little Kev he's always been!

Reading through these posts made me look him up on Google images - he looks like he has gradually got more and more stressed. He looked happy and all puppy dog eyes in the beginning, it’s quite sad to look at the changes. I also came across court appearances he has had to make and of course the well publicised addiction issues.

Agree, Kevin hasn’t looked well for a while. It’s more his speech which is a bit slurred. Hope he’s ok

Loving the 30 minute episodes and the strong northern women of a certain age. Hope Christina stays, reminds me of the old Corrie
I think Mr Harper will probably be gay as Billy has died, it's usually one and one out in the soaps.

is Shona’s sister a character in Emmerdale?

He’s definitely gay as he phoned his husband in the first episode he appeared in (& think he asked about their kids but can’t really remember).

My tv guide is showing Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday...guess what it's soccer on Tuesday! So I assume we will be back to confused days and times soon.
Kevin is surrounded by younger people a lot of the time which possibly adds to his older looking thing. Sally looks a lot younger.

@Fbfbfvfvv I'm still watching Classic (from 20 years ago), and the difference in Kev is very noticeable. Although time hasn't done Simon Gregson any favours either.

I think all the issues are related to his (former?) addiction, the sometimes slurred speech, and shakiness. Although I thought lately he was doing better, he's had a big role in the last few weeks.

Oh he absolutely is still the same angry Kev he has always been! And yes, he can still act. I thought at the back of my mind that it was alcohol that had been his problem. I must have read it somewhere (probably on here.)

I wonder if he is still having these issues? (with alcohol?)

@Shellingbynight I agree that Kevin being next to Abi doesn't help, as she has had sooooo many tweaks and botox and fillers. She was starting to look OK again over Christmas, (less filler/a bit more natural,) but this past couple of episodes, she has had so much filler that she can barely move her face. Her lips and face looked very taut and shiny on the last episode (Friday 9 Jan!) 😬

He talked about it openly years ago, and he went to rehab so he may well be sober now.

Oh hopefully he is sober now, and is on the mend.........

I thought she was an Emmerdale character tbh.
I was confused by that episode though.

I do feel uncomfortable with people discussing Michael le Vell's health etc and Sally's beauty treatments. I'm sure people are worried about Michael but it doesn't come across as that as the priority. There's just no need for all the repetition about it, of any of it imo.

Both Michael and Sally have talked openly to the media about the issues we've mentioned so I don't personally have any concerns about discussing it.

Yes. It was easy to assume she was an Emmerdale character (if you're a Corrie watcher and not an Emmerdale one) but as a pp said, I think the tree tattoo that Jodie has (and Shona has too) was a bit of a giveaway that it was someone possibly close to Shona in Corrie. I also wasn't sure what was going on to be fair, but realised it a bit later that she was in Corrie (and is Shona's sister.)

So where the heck did she appear from in the woods/crash? That’s blown my mind that she wasn’t from Emmerdale!

I also thought she was being held hostage in the back of an Emmerdale persons van!
