Thanks for the reminder! I love this program.

Keepingmecalm · 04/01/2026 19:17

I am recording it as DP hates it!!

AlicePottery · 04/01/2026 19:21

I've already started following the potters on Instagram, some of them are professional potters (I'm not sure if this was the case in previous years) and Im not sure how I feel about it!

How many times will Keith well up ?

Not sure how I feel about "professionals" taking part - will see how it plays out tonight

Wolfcub · 04/01/2026 19:31

Evening all

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/01/2026 19:31

Hello!

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/01/2026 19:33

There have always been potters who seem 'professional' in that they are selling their work. Are the ones this year more established?

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/01/2026 19:35

New song?

AlicePottery · 04/01/2026 19:39

I get the feeling that some of them are very established (I was already following one before the names were released for example).

I tried making a sculptured knob joke to DS but it didn’t land.

ThePainGrowsStronger · 04/01/2026 19:41

Checking in to follow - will be watching on catch up tomorrow I expect. Love love love TGPT

Wolfcub · 04/01/2026 19:42

I like Naveed

AlicePottery · 04/01/2026 19:51

I'm struggling to get enthusiastic about this challenge, possibly because I don't like soup 😂

So many using a dog theme.

Manename · 04/01/2026 19:53

I love soup but never had it from a tureen

ItWasnaMeGuv · 04/01/2026 19:54

Hi I am watching. Didn't know about professionals, thought it was supposed to be hobbyists.

I love the idea of the soup tureen though family doesn't live at home any more so no need. I have a pan of soup on the stove just now, for my lunches for next week. Cheap and easy. What's in it? Leftover veg in fridge, two reduced to clear posh turkey gravy sachets, eight lamb sausages I picked up from Tebay services and froze , skin removed, chopped onions, leftover chutney in fridge, seasonings. Tastes lovely.

theministerscat · 04/01/2026 19:59

Also surprised to hear that some contestants are professionals - which ones? Seems like it could be a bit unfair.

Manename · 04/01/2026 20:02

I wonder if professionals are being allowed because they’re just aren’t enough amateurs at the level we’ve been used to that are amateur. I know years ago local colleges used to have adult education with things like pottery, initially at a reasonable price then quite expensive, but now they don’t have them at all.

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/01/2026 20:05

I looked them up and none of them seem to be working as potters?

SwedishEdith · 04/01/2026 20:05

Just started watching and Naveed looks familiar. Is he the same guy from a Wren kitchen advert who closes a kitchen drawer with his hip? I definitely shouldn't be this knowledgeable about kitchen adverts.

AlicePottery · 04/01/2026 20:08

Huh, I'd been wondering how to make a gallery.
