Oooo, didn't like Fynn's at all.

LoveheartBear · 08/03/2026 22:11

I think the final pieces were too close to judge, so I understand why the decision was based on how consistent each person was throughout the series. With that in mind, the right person won.

SabrinaThwaite · 08/03/2026 22:13

Well deserved winner, but the other two were fab too.

And I love the update about what they all did after the Throwdown.

Autumngirl5 · 08/03/2026 22:14

I’m sad that Elham didn’t win 😞

elgreco · 08/03/2026 22:14

I think the completely random mention of Fynn's autism was a bit of a give away.

Fynn was probably the best all round but tonight's piece was anticlimactic.

EnterQueene · 08/03/2026 22:15

I loved the update- they are all so lovely & creative, it gives a warm glow just watching.

mydogisthebest · 08/03/2026 22:15

I liied Elham's the most but I think the big crack in her floor stopped her from winning plus Fynn having won the second challenge

SabrinaThwaite · 08/03/2026 22:15

I don’t think Fynn’s autism was much of a surprise.

motherofgodhaudyerwheesht · 08/03/2026 22:16

I think all were just happy to be there. Happy for Finn. Congrats to everyone involved. Night all.

Univerallyuniversal · 08/03/2026 22:24

I love the throwdown but I found that final very underwhelming. There must have been something wrong with the brief as they all had problems with cracking.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 08/03/2026 22:34

Whaaat?! Fynn’s was my least favourite! I thought Elham and then Angharad!

Randomchat · 08/03/2026 22:34

I loved Elham's story and Angharad's was beautiful. Fynn's was a bit brown for my taste.

I wonder if they fire the vases they made in the second challenge and the potters get to take them home? Or do they just get thrown away? That would be a shame. I'd like to see them fired

Victoriawould24 · 08/03/2026 22:51

I found it underwhelming too.
I always loved Angharads vision and design but always felt she never quite delivered, maybe she would have been better with more time.

I couldn’t really warm to Fynn and agree with pp about the lack of colour but his was the best overall.
I think the brief was odd and didn’t especially take great skill, I’m not a potter but I could definitely make mini plates and veggies and abstract figurines.

I think it’d be interesting on all these shows to have amateur seasons where they take complete amateurs and teach them and watch them grow.

Unfortunately like portrait/ landscape artist of the year etc having a hobby like pottery is completely inaccessible due to costs for many including myself and it would be good to see people without the privilege of time and resources have a crack at it.

Womaninhouse17 · 08/03/2026 22:55

I did think Fynn's was impressive but it didn't seem as much like a stage as the other two and there wasn't enough colour. And once again they were asked to tell 'a story' about their life. I'd prefer the final piece to be something more practical - like a washbasin or a clock or bird feeder.

DemonsRocks · 09/03/2026 01:17

Gutted for Elham, she would have won without that crack. She has made more progress than Fynn over the time.

I liked Elham. I wanted her or Angharad to win and they both made some brilliant things but I do think Fynn's final piece showed more skill. It wouldn't be fair to base the decision on who had made more progress.

HeadyLamarr · 09/03/2026 09:03

I wanted Elham to win, I thought hers was a much better fit for the brief.

Fynn's autism came as no surprise - every transmen I know is an autistic lesbian.

They have also mentioned her ADHD before, so I was even less surprised. Odd that they only chucked it in in the final though.

I have liked a lot of Fynn's stuff but that final make was ugly, I'm sorry. Lovely illustrative detail and character, but so sepia and depressing. It was like an 'in memoriam' piece. I thought the 'outdoor theatre' thing was a bit of a cheat too, and meant she didn't have to make a difficult structure prone to cracking like the others did.
I've loved Angharad throughout – her aesthetic is so strong, so original and beautifully executed – but I was underwhelmed by her last piece. I think she overstretched herself in terms of the number of items she gave herself to make.
Elham's was just marvellous. The detail (her plates and roast dinner), the character, the imagination in the way things worked (kids hanging from the light!), the colour scheme... I felt like the judges liked hers more than Fynn's when they were actually looking at them, but then pivoted to Fynn in discussion about their final decision; maybe they felt Fynn was the best overall. I probably have to agree, but on the strength of the final make I think Elham should have won. I got the impression she was disappointed and unimpressed too.

EnterQueene · 09/03/2026 11:19

Fynn was consistently the best potter - even when he didn’t win POTW he was usually in the running- and I thought he should have been POTW last week, I preferred his fountain to Elham’s & it was structurally sounder.

I agree his outdoor stage lacked colour but he was undoubtedly the worthy winner over the series. And his second make was clearly the best.

elgreco · 09/03/2026 17:14

Yeah, i preferred Fynns fountain and Elhams stage.

Piggywaspushed · 09/03/2026 18:32

Fynn's autism was mentioned earlier in the series.

elgreco · 09/03/2026 18:39

No, it was adhd earlier

Yes it was.

Davros · 09/03/2026 20:16

Just catching up now. Elham was robbed. Fynn’s was ugly and was like a woodland scene, not a stage

EchoedSilence · 09/03/2026 20:36

Elham was excellent at detailed decorating. Fynn was the best potter though. And it was a pottery competition after all.
