I love the green one, the one with the shoe-stealing fox, and Andrew's.

It takes me a few weeks to learn names 😅
I didn't love Whitney's or the black and white digital ones or the cinema one, although I did like the cinema one's lid.

I think it should be like Strictly and nobody goes home in the first week.

AlicePottery · 04/01/2026 20:53

Oh Olympia last in throwdown so will go home

I didn't really 'see' Whitney's so possibly yes, he goes.

The editing drives me mad. I don't need to see the other contestants' reactions or a close up of the judges' faces, I just want a good look at the creations.

AlicePottery · 04/01/2026 20:56

Ooh surprised at the POTW, but those illustrations really were beautiful

I like all of them but fynn was a worth potter of the week.

ItWasnaMeGuv · 04/01/2026 20:56

Fynn, potter of the week! Smile
Olympia goes home Sad Cinema ticket didn't save her.

HoLeeFuk · 04/01/2026 20:57

I'm quite surprised at the top three as I didn't think they were the best. But agree with the bottom two.

They do detailed photos of each piece on the insta page, but only after the episode has aired.

Right result for who goes home, I think.

Saucery · 04/01/2026 20:58

Bookends, fab!

Manename · 04/01/2026 20:58

Preferred others on POTW, right decision on who went, but so hard first week.

SabrinaThwaite · 04/01/2026 21:01

I think if the guy’s ladle hadn’t been broken then he would have been in with a shout for POTW (although his tureen had a crack too).

FriendofDorothy · 04/01/2026 21:26

Just checking in but have just started watching tonight's show.

Agreed, I love books, far more relatable than bloody soup bleh

I don't watch the end bit as I feel they always give too much away!

I liked Elham’s the most. Those little figures were gorgeous.

I did love her designs and she did such a great job

Re the contestants that sell the work and have professional Instagram accounts etc it’s possibly an extension of a hobby in the way people do celebration cakes as a side hustle so it’s not their sole source of income.
I agree you’d struggle to find such a high standard of potter that just did it for fun and really what else other than sell their makes would they do with it all.
The northern Irish potter last year sold his work and was semiprofessional.

I tried making a sculptured knob joke to DS but it didn’t land.

I love a disapproving reaction to my jokes from my kids it makes them all the funnier (to me).

Angharad and Mark seem to do it as a full time thing. I suppose it all depends on what 'professional' actually means.

The rules for how they consider someone to be a professional for GPTD are very strange. I used to go to a lady who was a professional potter, had her own studio which she’s had for over 30 years. She was approached early doors to ask if she knew anyone who would be suitable to take part in the programme but wasn’t allowed to take part herself as her pottery business was her sole source of income so was considered a professional for the purposes of GPTD.

A couple of years later she bought a cottage nearby to rent out as an Air B&B. Apparently they then told her she was eligible to try as pottery was no longer her sole source of income. She claimed she didn’t get on because ‘she was too good’ 😂 Not sure how true any of that is but that’s what we were told.

I was only slightly disappointed - I daren’t tell him what his mum used to get up to at his age because he’d probably disown me. He’s sooo sensible.

BeaLola · 04/01/2026 22:14

I liked Fynns but it was a bit busy for me.

Loved the skater, the scouse soup one, the one with boots and Elhams

Didn't like Olympias or Nareen's

TheMadGardener · 04/01/2026 22:16

Andrew's work was beautiful - I think he will go far, as long as he doesn't make a habit of smashing his own work!

elgreco · 04/01/2026 22:17

Fynns was too busy. Right choice to go home though.
