Desiderata · 11/06/2008 22:03

She was in my area recently. Well, not my council estate, you understand, but somewhere very close

Oh BALD I am flattered.

(KA's MN alter ego says) I love the word pash. I had a pash on a sixth former at school.

Desiderata · 11/06/2008 22:06

Mine is an ex-council estate, KM.

Well, my bit is ...

margoandjerry · 11/06/2008 22:08

love Kirsty style-wise but the tory thing is a bit tough to take.

The day the govt takes tax advice from a pair of estate agents is the day I lose all hope.

noddyholder · 11/06/2008 22:08

The nonsense about stamp duty is cringeworthy if houses weren't so ridiculously priced it wouldn't be a problem!Lets abolish sd up to 250k and keep the prices over inflated and encourage ftb'ers to borrow too much. How about prices go down and its less of an issue Silly woman!i used to like her

Well, we all had the option to buy a while back, Kerry. So must of us did, because we got a really good deal.

So, out of a small block of three story maisonettes, I'd say that only 10% are still council, and they've been ring-fenced to remain so.

Rightly.

DillyTant · 11/06/2008 22:12

Oh dear, I know sensitive ponytail man and kaftan woman, and you have sooo got them right! And I missed it!

No, unfortunately they don't, Kerry.

It was dh who was in the council flat when I met him, following his marriage breakdown. We're very, very lucky. This is an affluent village, and we'll make a mint when we come to sell.

It still won't be enough to buy another place, though. We'll stay put. It's nice here .. and I haven't checked my lottery tickets yet.

Believe me, kid, if I ever make big money, you'll be No.1 recipient!
