I did not enjoy Kyrgios’ commentary last time. The insightful comments were peppered with too many crass comments. I am undoubtedly influenced by his off court behaviours but I feel no desire to hand him tax payers’ money or listen to him.

Surely it’s not that hard to find decent tennis commentators? Maybe some of us Mumsnetters need to make a pitch to the beeb? What happened to Kyrgios’ claim that the BBC had hired Chris Eubanks? AC must have a huge severance package that prevents them letting him go.

I need to actually do some work this week so probably not much tennis for me.

magi I agree about Sam- she is great. Not surprised she was overlooked.
I always like listening to Jo Durie, who at least knows her stuff and can be good paired with someone like Simon Reed.

The BBC need to look to TNT/Sky for presenters- they are all freelance after all- Naomi and Liam, Laura Robson.
Tim Henman bores me on the BBC- he brings nothing to the commentary- he isn't funny, he doesn't really do technical, (at least on Sky he's the butt of the joke- I like the dynamic with Gigi Salmon/Laura).

I miss Catherine Whittaker, as I said after RG.

I'm a bit sad that Wimbledon is over. I miss the daily checking of who is playing and actually having a sport I like on TV.

I get two lots of sport a year that I can watch, Wimbledon and the 6 Nations. There's not even any athletics for me reluctantly watch either. It's football and that's boring.

And to top it off, the weather has cooled, I know it's supposed to be 25c but I'm cold and it's too breezy to take my laptop and work outside.

No idea was Dick was talking about (not that I ever know what he's talking about) since Chris was playing in a Challenger last week! And lost in the first round of Wimbledon.

AC definitely know who they buried under Henman Hill, Ice.

Marion Bartoli gave me a headache yesterday on R5live. She knows her stuff but didn’t half go on. 🤣

Bless Marion- she does go on a bit. And has ...interesting dress sense.

Ash Barty was great last year as a guest pundit- but she has obviously just had her second baby.

Some ex players are really good at it- but it's not a given.

The good thing about Petch being Raducanu's coach has been being spared his inane commentary. (Very much in the AC vein).

I do like Robbie Koenig though, he's daft, but fun. I have a soft spot for the Robbie-isms.

Jim Courier however NO.

I agree that the BBC commentary/presenting team is stale - mainly made up of white men in their 50s/60s who seem stuck in their own tennis era

I liked Feli Lopez and his commentary last year so not sure why they got rid of him and I also like Robbie - his enthusiasm is infectious and he is very knowledgeable about tennis

I agree that Catherine Whittaker is a good presenter and she really knows her stuff - they need to get rid of Isa who still doesn’t seem to understand tennis

A question for knowledgeable people, please (I follow these threads through the year but don't usually post).

Why were they reporting that Emma Raducanu would be British number one again following Queen's/Wimbledon? Katie and Sonay are still ahead of her in WTA rankings.

I think they scrapped the dance for a long time- apparently Djok brought it back.Poor Angie Kerber. .

There are only a handful of places between them , in the live rankings in fairness (Boulter is at 41, Kartal 44, and Raducanu 45).

Another answer is the fact they were convinced (as always ) Emma would do better than she did- and didn't consider Sonay at all. And ignored Katie all together.

That dance just fills me with horrendous second hand embarrassment. I think they should can it, honestly.

Loved the dancing. They are both so shy, so incredibly sweet.

I always take a week or nearly 2 weeks off.
Try and make a point of going twice in person in recent years.
Don't even care too much about going solo!
Seems hard finding live Tennis friends.
