Will anyone actually be watching this? I keep seeing trailers for it & can't believe this sort of show is going to be shown on tv, i'm not a prude & love trashy tv but surely this is a step way too far?

I will probably watch for mere curiosity.

fruitandvegoverload · 12/05/2025 16:39

There was another thread about this and it got deleted, I've no idea why. I commented on it to say I'd seen the ads for it and some of the participants seem vulnerable. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

lunaswand · 12/05/2025 16:53

completely agree fruitandvegoverload. I'm amazed it's allowed to be on tv

I read an article about it and I was agog. The therapists are going to have sex with them! Or two sex workers. On the telly!

TheCatsTongue · 12/05/2025 20:38

I've read about the making of this programme for years.

Channel 4 have been wanting to make it for years, but couldn't find anyone to go on it, so in the end they had to change the criteria and the people didn't have to be virgins, just self-identify as inexperienced.

Really with such a low take-up they should've just ditched the format.

MiddleAgedDread · 12/05/2025 21:32

WTAF am I watching?? 😳

chunkyblighter · 12/05/2025 21:47

Blimey, not sure what to think. An interesting selection of participants, some more vulnerable than others. There's all sorts going on in terms of MH and I feel particularly sorry for the young woman who cries a lot!

MiddleAgedDread · 12/05/2025 21:55

“Surrogate partner”?!? This feels quite wrong.

Moonlightfrog · 12/05/2025 21:57

Some of them clearly have experienced trauma, others possibly autistic or sensory processing disorder. I’m not sure I agree with how it’s being done.

The Surrogate partner……basically a prostitute?

MiddleAgedDread · 12/05/2025 22:00

Yes, prostitute is the word I’d have used too @Moonlightfrog and what’s with the therapists getting hands on?? Urgh

Slowhorses1 · 12/05/2025 22:01

Honestly, that programme is so wrong.

purpleme12 · 12/05/2025 22:10

I don't like Lucy Beaumont as a narrator

She was narrating another programme I watched recently as well

SwedishEdith · 12/05/2025 22:31

Oh, god, watching now on+1. All the "therapists" are good looking. Isn't there a risk (I'm sure the producers don't care) that some of the "virgins" will fall for them or think there are deeper meanings in these encounters?

LynetteScavo · 12/05/2025 22:44

I’ve seen the trailers and the concept strikes me as grim. I won’t be watching.

thenightsky · 12/05/2025 22:46

I'm watching on +1 but only watched it from half way through. It's very cringey.

Aquarius1234 · 13/05/2025 00:56

I haven't watched yet. But how is it more grim than Love Island etc.
Half the people on that are never into the person they are getting intimate with. It's just shown as they are, when it's clearly fake.
I like the idea of this but the therapists seem fake.

Yes I think from watching a few clips the people are far more interesting than on the other reality dating shows.
They seem like people you'd see in a supermarket. Not all fake and on instagram. Also they seem to have personalities..

We watched it more out of curiosity and the “therapists” touching each other and also the surrogate partner is basically just weird, I thought the show would be much different than it was.

dh and I were cringing at parts.

Blackcountrychik83 · 13/05/2025 07:57

I was watching this and had to turn it over . It’s so wrong ! It feels like the “therapists” are grooming vulnerable people 🤮 I got to the point where the blonde woman in the white was “seducing” that guy and it felt so uncomfortable ..
yet I watch naked attraction etc but this doesn’t feel right to me . Awful programme .

Well we don't know why it was taken down do we

I'm presuming it wasn't just taken down because of the subject of the programme!

Fifiesta · 13/05/2025 08:30

My moral compass says no!
For so many reasons. You can dress up public therapy any which way, the reality is horrible human beings, sniggering their mouldy socks, off will make up the highest percentage of the target audience.
Any normal viewer will be sickened for the gullible, vulnerable individuals taking part.

Chellybelle · 13/05/2025 08:37

I watched the first episode and thought it was weird. The therapists were getting stuck in. They were so much older than the virgins too. And not only that but what if they just didn't find them attractive?

purpleme12 · 13/05/2025 08:41

Well they have to try m fake it in that job!
