Will anyone actually be watching this? I keep seeing trailers for it & can't believe this sort of show is going to be shown on tv, i'm not a prude & love trashy tv but surely this is a step way too far?

I felt awful for the guy who got rejected. Awful that they put him in a situation where that could happen.

I felt like that too

They said they basically need to be able to deal with rejection as it's part of it all

Sunshine386 · 20/05/2025 21:53

The guy who got rejected, Ben, I don't get the impression he gets on that well with the group, particularly the women. Lots of the others seem to get on together platonically but may not be attracted to each other. He doesn't seem that relaxed socially.

A few of them come across as on the spectrum to me.
Emma is very pretty so I don't understand why she's never been in a relationship.

Louise is pretty too. I get the impression the women have never done anything more than kissing or got to any other "bases" which to me suggests a lot of anxiety or body issues because I think it would be unusual for a woman to have done nothing sexual whatsover beyond a certain age. For men it's possibly different because they have to initiate things so I don't find it as unusual that they've never done anything

I don't know if the clip at the end for what's coming next week was just done to make you want to watch but it looked quite worrying

When he was saying about her finding it intimidating maybe

I get creepy vibes from Zak and I'm not sure why...😞

Me too, he reminds me of a guy I dated that was a bit creepy in the bedroom 😬. He’s not a virgin because he’s shy, he’s a virgin because of how he is around women.

Something happens next week between him and the surrogate partner. She says something about not feeling comfortable and she cuts the session short. I wonder what the hell has happened? He does give me serial killer vibes and I hate that sinister smile he does 😲 He's just ...weird...🤮

That's not what I'm saying. He's giving me uneasy vibes. He's an odd one.

The show makes me want to KMS.

2chocolateoranges · 21/05/2025 10:31

We watched the next episode, I don’t mind the interactions between the islanders(virgins) but the ones with the more mature sex partners is so cringey and unnatural.

when I first started watching I thought it would be showing them strategies to become more confident, boost their inner belief in themselves and help them to date, not have surrogate older sexual partners, that is just wrong.

Mardychum · 21/05/2025 11:53

What the eff with this programme. Just saw the start of episode 1. What have we sunk to.

Mardychum · 21/05/2025 11:55

Why are we saying it’s bad to be a virgin in your 20s. It’s not.

thenightsky · 21/05/2025 12:06

Just watched the 3rd episode. Boring as hell, yet cringy at the same time.

I can’t get my head around these young people potentially having sex with these “therapists” that are probably the same age as their mothers 🤢

WinterMorn · 21/05/2025 18:55

All these posters saying how cringey, uncomfortable and exploitative it is….. as they carry on watching it.

How does anyone know he actually IS a virgin? It's not as if they can test that theory out, is it?

I'm half expecting to read of an ex-sexual partner coming forwards with tales of how he had a very niche "teacher/student" type of fetish where he liked to pretend he was the naiive virgin being taught what to do. He's giving off that type of barely-hidden fetish kind of vibe.

In fact, from the small amount we're seeing I'm also half expecting him to be "let go" from the programme in a future episode, with some spiel about how he consistently flouted advice and protocol and kept pushing boundaries all the time.

At the same time I hope they are not deliberately picking and choosing which clips of him are shown to present him in an almost predatory way.

That would have actually been a good programme. Something like Love Island but Virgin Love Island. Where they put a load of inexperienced people together and had the sex and relationship experts available for them to discuss things with and kind of coach/mentor them to progress things.

For example (and I can't remember names at the mo) but something like the situation with the woman who told her date that his stretch marks were horrible. I mean she is VERY abrupt in her manner and clearly doesn't realise how she comes across and why it might be putting men off her. They could shown a relationship counsellor discussing with her how it had upset him and advising her about what way she could have approached the issue with a bit more empathy. (or even not mentioned it at all)

It's just missing a whole lot of depth to me. I can't stand all the daft practical lessons, the fake breathy noises and "here''s the clit, kind of pet it" instruction (😂) . I mean, nearly all of us weren't shown a live human's bits and given a lesson first before we delved in so to speak. Yet somehow we've managed to work out what works/feels good for ourselves or the other person. Bring back the More magazine sex advice columns that we used to read when we were 16. My dear old dad used to sneak a look at it with his breakfast every week when it was delivered, before we were up. Wonder if my mum was happier? 😂

No I don't think that's it, he has an odd manner. I was watching it with my adult son and 'creepy' was the way he described Zak, without any prompting from me.

Imogene · 21/05/2025 21:30

@Virgin30 don’t let a tv show make you feel that bad, switch it off!
