Epping Forest to east london, on foot, soaking wet, half drowned and probably traumatised yet Zac still has enough energy for a stand up fight in the street. Agree he came across as totally unhinged.

Yes, it was before the Carters, and I think just after Fatboy disappeared.

After the conclusion of this evening's episode, THAT branch of the Mitchell fa-a-mily make the Adams family look normal.

Re: Shirley's previous disappearance, it was back in Sept 2013, she stole money from Phil's ever bountiful safe (it's like he's Albert Square's moneylender!) and told everyone she was going to live in Greece. Then she was threatened by gangster Carl White, and shortly afterwards Ian Beale found her sunglasses in the Vic, knowing she wouldn't leave the Square without them. Jean send her a voicemail message, and there was an ominous closing scene in the episode where her leather jacket and phone were in a public bin. It looked as if there was no hope for Shirley, but she turned up a few months later, it's soap after all !

I had about 13 years of not watching EE until about 2 years ago, I remember Shirley from before but I don’t remember mick at all

When Zack came back , soaked on stinking pondwater and flumped down on the chair in his wet clothes .........then asked Barney if he could sit next to him on the sofa ...

No Zack you filthy git , get changed , don;t mess up two seats .
Barney has waited 15 years , another five minutes won;t kill him (though Sharon might kill Zack when she sees the state of her armchair)

You have a lot of catching up to up , Mick was one of the best Eastenders characters in his prime .
I;m always dubious when they bring in "a named" actor , especially Danny Diamond Geezer Dyer but he was sterling as Mick .

Yes Mick was great, he and Linda were a great pairing.

I had the same thought about Zack sitting on that sofa 70s!

The way they wrote Zack this week made Teddy and Nicola look sane.

So I think mick was in it from after I stopped watching to just before I started again. But I don’t remember Shirley having other kids before I stopped watching just Carly and Dean, mick wasn’t mentioned as far as I know 🤷‍♀️

Mick, he was a good character that they ruined because one of the producers didn’t like the Carters. Agree that sitting on a cloth sofa when you’re wet and stinky was a bad move ! He also didn’t get his cup of tea and ( as mentioned below ) Zac then had the energy to try and fight people too. I know his a gym bunny, but that was really unrealistic.
Sharon will return to a new half nephew and might have to get the sofa cleaned.
If she ever returns.
It’s the Beales turn for the family angst next week. The thought of Pe ta being all upset isn’t filling me with any hope he’ll pull it off plus I’m
sure Cindy will also put her boot in.

Storm, Mick was brought up believing Shirley was his sister for many years.
She had three when she first appeared, Jimbo who died ( we never met him) Carly and Dean.
I can’t remember who all the dads
were , but one was played by Phil Daniels of Blur ‘ parklife ‘ fame ( did the talky bits)

I know Danny Dyer said one of the producer didn't like the Carters, I'm not sure if that is really true (DD likes a wind up). I know he hated being paired with Janine and it was a horrible decision for sure! But the decisions were made because Kellie had two maternity leaves and it was really hard to give a reason for Mick and Linda splitting because they were soul mates. I'm not sure what they could have done really.

Such a shame the Carters were ruined by the then executive producer. Danny Dyer’s acting career has gone through the roof over the past year or so, he won’t be back (sadly).

D D has been very vocal about the hostility around the producer not liking the carters characters ( especially him) so I can’t see him returning , but you never know.
He seems happier being a free agent though and certainly had lots of work since he left.

Loved Phil Daniels in Eastenders , I recently watched the episode where he was killed in a car crash ( proper Dead , not EastEnders Dead)

I don’t remember PD in it , but it was a long time ago!

I thought Buster was Micks dad played by the actor from Brush Strokes (showing my age there!)

Yes. Buster ( Karl Howman ) was Mick’s dad. One of the good guys I think? I don’t recall him being too dodgy.
Brush strokes’ was funny and good humourded and it often crops up on Charlie Brooker’s satire programmes as a little indent of the opening credits oddly enough !

Phil Daniel’s must have been Jimbo , Carly and Deans dad then. I thought there were more than 2 dads involved , but I get mixed up with Shirley’s brood and the Fox’s as PD’s character was also married to Denise once as well.

I loathed Phil Daniels' character in EastEnders, I thought his storylining was a mess, so I was pleased he didn't stay long.

Phil Daniels/Kevin was the only one of Denise’s many husbands she had any chemistry with so I didn’t mind him.

I thought Denise had chemistry with the evil Lucas, the actor played that part so well. But I agree there has generally been a lack of chemistry in her relationships!

Lucas was great ! Horrible character, but he had charisma ( and easy on the eye )
Dee even went to see him in prison that time when it was all kicking off over Ken!

Oh I forgot about Lucas. Yes very easy on the eye indeed. He was evil but he became a born again Christian and there was the episode he saved Raymond from some incident. Then he took the rap for Chelsea’s drug dealing and went to prison . I get confused with the storylines but seem to remember he killed a woman who I think was his first wife, with a garden shovel. And he also killed Denise’s ex, the father of her other daughter, and that guy was also a psychopath. I mean if you were Dee surely you would just give up on men!!

Dee is now with safe Jack ( occasionally) but he can also be a bit of a bad boy too sometimes ( historically anyway ) She does know how to pick them doesn’t she!
In real life , someone like Abani wouldn’t be interested in someone like Barney but it’s nice having a mix of characters I suppose.
