Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

How much longer is Stacey going to be 'grieving' and leaving her kids to fend for themselves. She needs to get a grip. She treated Martin badly when he was alive now it's just self-indulgence. But then I am a cynical and stony-hearted crone. Also, who in their right mind moves to Inverness for God's sake? Especially with two kids in tow. Ridiculous.

storminabuttercup · 20/05/2025 06:50

I still don’t buy Stacey locking herself away but they have to while Lacey is on leave I guess

Linda is so bloody lovely but should she be taking on everyone’s problems so soon? (Over thinking)

I got the impression Vicki knows about Barney because of a phone call her, Zack and Sharon had off screen. But of course he won’t go to Inverness with her. Also isn’t Whit staying with Ryan? Surely he would just look out for her rather than the random move to Inverness? Also there is no way Sharon would know about the Mitchell’s threatening Zack and not get Phil involved, Phil would menacingly warn her off and sorted (even though he’s pissed off with her he still loves her)

the Lauren thing is sad I think, I reckon she will be blaming herself then weeks of nobody believing her that there’s something wrong

Shellingbynight · 20/05/2025 08:20

Stacey is filled with guilt as well as grief - well I hope she is. If not for her, Martin would be alive. At least they are ensuring that when Self-Pity-Stacey leaves we will be glad to see the back of her!

I am not sure Sharon would want to dump Zack's issue on Phil, neither he nor Linda should be taking on other people's problems and Phil already has Nigel to deal with.

Viewer23 · 20/05/2025 08:22

I think Sharon wouldn’t get Phil involved because she would see him as still being fragile and wouldn’t want to upset his recovery.
The Lauren thing is sad. It’s frustrating that no one takes her seriously. It wouldn’t be so hard to get Jimmy properly checked out to allay her concerns.
Meanwhile, it looks like Stacey has slipped into a depressive episode, which is interesting as the show has mainly focused on her manic episodes when it comes to her bipolar.
This month is mental health awareness month and I think the show is doing a good job of showing how difficult it can be for families of people with mental illness - on the one hand it’s easy to stigmatise people and blame everything on the illness (Lauren) or not take them seriously and leave them out of things (Phil) and on the other hand it’s also easy to miss when they are relapsing and live in denial (Stacey). I feel very sorry for Lily.

Viewer23 · 20/05/2025 08:24

It also shows how mental illness affects people’s identity and the impact of that loss of identity.

Shellingbynight · 20/05/2025 08:34

Lauren's storyline would be massively helped if she wasn't so annoying, and if Peter could act. His facial expression never changes, he gives nothing back, he just reads his lines.

If the storyline involved someone like Linda I would feel much more sympathetic and involved, but because it's Lauren I barely want to watch it.

Bunionbabe · 20/05/2025 08:37

Too much doom and gloom on EE is bad for my mental wellbeing. It's a soppy soap, they don't need to be trying to educate and inform their audience all the time. Plus, real issues on the Square are always exacerbated by the characters doing the wrong thing/doing nothing/talking too loudly in the pub, cafe or street. Or by being just plain stupid.

the80sweregreat · 20/05/2025 12:04

I really did zone out of today’s one ! Not interested in Pe ta or Lauren ( feel sorry for the baby ) but did laugh at Kathy telling Cindy the Albert was a liability business ! lol
Nigel being off was typical behavior for someone with dementia, so that was correct.

the80sweregreat · 20/05/2025 12:22

It is gloomy lately.
Apart from Kathy and Harvey , who seem happy enough (at the moment anyway .. )
We have Stacey and her ‘hoodie of doom’ , Jean disappearing off leaving them to it , Nigel and his dementia diagnosis, Zac and Barney about to kick off ,the baby being blind , the Avani / Joel stuff ( which resurfaces next week) and Kat just trying to hold her family together ! At least Cindy is trying to help a bit.
(Even if it’s a tad misplaced sometimes and they all hate her ! )
Probably missed out loads more

Shellingbynight · 20/05/2025 12:54

Stacey's hoody must stink by now, she's been wearing it since February!

EE has always been grim though, the first scene was about Reg Cox dying.

the80sweregreat · 20/05/2025 13:13

yeah, it is a grim drama , but lately it feels even more so. ( Or maybe I’m just a tad bored with it and the neverending Slater stories which are never happy ones, always a big drama!)
I do feel sorry for Lily and Charli though.

Southeastdweller · 20/05/2025 13:30

It's going to get gloomier:

They like a car in a lake storyline ! Been done before with Phil and Ian and the twins when they were little.
Probably the same lake .. 😂

Shellingbynight · 20/05/2025 14:01

I thought it would have something to do with Teddy and Nicola, but didn't think the Nicola storyline would all unravel so fast.

So Nigel is in one of the cars (random!) There must be a reason they chose him, so I wonder if this is where they cop out of the dementia storyline with a convenient death.

the80sweregreat · 20/05/2025 14:09

It is random that Nigel ends up involved with this car chase or whatever happens here.

the80sweregreat · 20/05/2025 16:19

Maybe Nigel just gets into the car thinking his seeing Debbie or Clare and they don’t know his in the back until it’s too late .. which sounds ridiculous written down , but just the kind of thing that happens in EE land and wouldn’t in real life ! 😂

Viewer23 · 20/05/2025 19:28

I don’t think Cindy really wants to help @the80sweregreat, she’s a user! She only wants to manipulate the situation. She was really horrible about Lauren today.

Viewer23 · 20/05/2025 19:32

Zack is such a liability, he and Sam Mitchell were well suited.

Shellingbynight · 20/05/2025 21:25

Where did Cindy try to help? She just tried to manipulate Ian in the hope of Lauren getting kicked to the kerb! Kathy tried to help, but was on the wrong track.

I'm glad Lauren went ahead to get a medical opinion. Peter is the most irritating man on earth.

The Stacey situation is ridiculous. I hope she ran upstairs to have a good wash and ditch that bloody hoody!

I am not sure Yolande inviting people over for Nigel's birthday is a good idea, particular when the list includes Lexi who is going to remind Nigel of Clare. (And I doubt Nigel can be relied upon to remember when he last spoke to Clare, or whether they are good on terms.)

the80sweregreat · 21/05/2025 07:42

Oh dear re Cindy !
not seen it yet, but I can imagine they all stick the boots in and Lauren will blame herself.

Giantjoelguesser · 21/05/2025 08:14

Today's is ok, it felt like a hour special. I actually felt the emotion from Lauren's shouting, rather than it just being screeching. I'm glad they didn't drag it out and have months of it building up. I hope Lauren just gets on with it and doesn't blame herself because self pity is boring to watch.
The Beales are just awful, and how Peter left Lauren and Jimmy at the hospital is unforgiveable

Kreepture · 21/05/2025 09:15

Peter is odious, i have never been so annoyed with a character for consistently refusing to believe ANYTHING Lauren ever says.

she needs to get rid of him.

Butterpaneer · 21/05/2025 09:24

Ouch, I know it was for effect but Ian's comment about not even being able to breastfeed properly was an unexpected stab to the heart!

catin8oot5 · 21/05/2025 09:50

I’m laughing at Linda cleaning the Vic windows in her massive high heels

the80sweregreat · 21/05/2025 13:50

Tough episode , poignant ending :(
Linda is everyone’s saviour at the moment! Thank god she’s around for some support and common sense.
Ian needs his head put down the toilet again by Phil. Obnoxious man that he is.
(Although I did smile at him putting coffee in a plastic plant pot and ruining the blind)
.. The nurse should ask him to pay for a repair, but he was too busy worrying about the car park fees!
Poor Jimmy , a horrible family dynamic and he can’t see , bless him ;(
