Cast announced as, Stephen Fry, Mark Bonner, Celia Imrie, Alan Carr, Joe Wilkinson, Nick Mohammed, Ruth Codd, Paloma Faith, Lucy Beaumont, Charlotte Church, Jonathon Ross, Kate Garraway, Joe Marler, Tameka Empson, David Olusoga, Claire Balding, Tom Daley, Cat Burns & Niki Omilana.

I’m looking forward to this. I have a feeling that it will be harder for the celebs - some of whom must know each other - to trick people, but will definitely be watching. I’m glad it’s a good cast with several comedians.

Now wondering who would be good traitors. Mark Bonner in a cloak would put a smile on my face, but I’m worried that Alan Carr could be a Linda.

I think it’s a really interesting line up. Some really good comedians on it too.

Looks great I love Joe Wilkinson and Nick Mohammed. Celia Emrie and Stephen fry will be good. Lucy Beaumont will be funny and paloma faith.

I can't wait for this. Some very intersting names in there. Nick Mohammed is my "unlikley crush" and I'm already rooting for him to win.
I'm very interested to see what Steven Fry is like because I've always felt he might be a bit of a twat.

I like it with ‘normal’ cast line up. Can’t be bothered with a bunch of self-obsessed celebs trying to be clever.’ Etc. 🤮

So although I love watching normal traitors, won’t be watching this one. That line up looks like narcissism-central.

I know what you mean, although I’m looking forward to it, I wonder if the tension will be the same. Especially amongst people who know each other.

I think it’s a fascinating mix of people. From YouTubers I’ve never heard of to Celia Imrie. Looking forward to it.

There are a few I’ve never heard of but I’m excited. Surely Sir Stephen Fry will murdered or banished early due to his reputation for being highly intelligent and therefore a threat

There's a couple of people who seriously irritate me in that list, so I'm not sure whether I'm going to enjoy watching it all that much until they get murdered or banished that is. I'll enjoy that bit.

Yes there’s a risk the end will be the less interesting people plus the traitors, that’s what happens in the non celeb series. If I went on and got to end as a traitor I’d look at the last 5/6, discount the useless ones and get rid of the rest as odds on they are the traitors.

Claire Balding also at early risk for being too smart. Kate Garroway and Jonathan Ross both probably just as bright but hide it better and might slip by for a while.

Why do people assume Stephen Fry is particularly smart? He isn't an actual expert in anything. He doesn't have a PhD and his work experience is in show business. He probably reads a fair bit and has an upper middle class background and posh voice to go with it. He also has a professorial manner. But those things don't actually equal intelligence.

The Rest is Entertainment have talked about it this morning. Richard Osman confirmed he was asked and was very tempted but declined.

He confirmed some of the names that are in the open but said that there are others that have not been leaked yet.

Marina and Richard think that Joe Wilkinson and Lucy Beaumont are the most likely winners. Nick Mohammed will be excellent with his memory/people reading skills but that puts a big target on his back.

Gosh I recognised most of those names so quite a few oldies (I’m 70 and don’t follow celebs) - I wonder if the extra life experience will make them craftier?

My thought was that Nick Mohammad wouldn’t fare well. He’s a great actor and magician, but when he is himself he seems such a sweetheart. Unless he treats this as an acting job I suppose, which is plausible.

That's interesting because I mentioned this thread to someone on Sunday and she said she'd heard that Bob Mortimer was in it.

I hate 'Celebrity' anything so I probably won't watch it. They are always far too conscious of the cameras and know it's just a good opportunity to up their profile.
