This has reminded me of Morgana Robinson’s ‘I’m doing this now’ sketch. 😄 Fair play to her though.

Morgana as Sonia doing the simultaneous jaw out/eye roll/smile/ tut/ head nod - genius. Setting up her acting school lol
‘Daaaaaaaaaaa’d-ah!

Shellingbynight · 07/05/2025 08:25

I agree Harvey and Kathy have no chemistry. I don’t believe Kathy would be interested in him, he’s really dull. She was married to Rocky who was very entertaining!

I can never make my mind up about Cindy. Sometimes Michelle does a good job but other times it all seems to be ‘acting by numbers’. The scenes in the club were really poorly written though, it looked an effort for all of them!

Lauren is right to make Peter choose, but he’s so weak he’ll never keep his promises anyway.

I agree about the Vic not looking 'ready', why is the sheeting still on it? But then again it would not have been finished in ten weeks, it'd be ten months if you're lucky!

Butterpaneer · 07/05/2025 09:01

Lol at Cindy being aghast at an hour's ambulance wait...

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 09:20

A big place like the Vic would take ages to rebuild and I bet it’ll look the same inside , same old photos up and someone will bring the Vic bust back that was rescued by someone that fateful day.
Not seen it today , but it is a bit dull lately and I do hope Cindy’s nice white coat hasn’t been ruined!

Shellingbynight · 07/05/2025 14:14

Another boring episode, despite all the action.

Peter seems to be getting worse every day. Cindy was very unconvincing and Lauren was very screechy. I hate the ‘mortal enemy helps deliver baby’ trope. And I am fed up with Cindy blackmailing. Someone needs to chuck her off a roof.

At least Vicki is doing something about Joel, but not the obvious thing of insisting on monitoring his phone use. Ross is useless.

Some of the scenes in the bar were funny though. Apart from Mo being the inevitable pain in the bum.

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 17:32

Mo needs to butt out.
Im sure she’ll be back in the new Vic by Christmas ( or hopefully gone !)
Vicky and Ross are very unsuited as a couple.
So, Joe 90 is a sex pest :(
He should be in jail or a young offenders place.
Agree that Cindy / Pe ta and the others are woeful. They all seem a bit on edge. Although the partying with Kim and co was fun.
Zac and Chels looked cosy , but he’d probably screw that up if they become an item. Lots of baggage there!

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 17:34

Ian’s face when C said she wants it all!
He needs a lawyer fast ( or ask Eve!)
She can’t get his house surely ? Some of the businesses might be a goer, but she is chancing her arm.

Eastie77Returns · 07/05/2025 19:01

I wonder where Joel's mum is. No doubt she will be toxic/troubled and will make an entrance via the Black Taxi soon enough. The blackmail and loan SL makes very little sense. Why would Ross pay out such a huge out of money to Joel's victim's family. Upskirting is a serious crime but he is a minor and would not have gone to jail.

I don't remember Lauren being close to her grandfather so odd that she specifically mentioned naming the baby after him but Jimmy Beale is a great name and proper East End😁

There is nowhere for Cindy's character to go now and they are just wheeling out the same old tired at war with Ian/Kathy/Elaine scenes with all her kids shouting mum I hate you.

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 19:31

I wonder where Cindy will live? She isn’t working and rent isn’t cheap. Fighting Ian for money won’t be cheap either, not that anyone seems to think much about lawyer fees or how to actually go about getting their hands on the businesses she thinks she is owed! I’m sure it’s a complex situation.
Maybe Pe ta will let her live with them ? Ian will combust, but she has to go somewhere.
Lauren might also need some help especially as he is a wet lettuce most of the time and they have bonded over little Jimmy !

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 19:35

25 k ( Stirling) is a huge amount of money not to mention the air fares over to the UK and everything else. I guess that Ross felt it was worth it to keep Joel out of prison or whatever , but once Sharon finds out what the money was really for she’ll definitely want it paid back asap / be annoyed etc :(
Joel is trouble isn’t he :(

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 19:38

Yeah, I agree that Joe (90’s) mum will probably rock up eventually. She lives in London I think he said, so it’s bound to be black cab time at some stage , just as Ross is getting grief over his debts.
He didn’t end up working for Jumpers because Paradise Park isn’t happening now is it?

Meredusoleil · 07/05/2025 19:48

I can't belive Cindy's cheek! How is she entitled to everything? I thought it was only half and that's if they are married. Are they even married? I thought Cindy was still married to George? Or did she never divorce Ian the first time around so didn't marry George? Although she must have divorced Ian as Sharon married him in between. Not to mention all the other wives 🙄

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 19:56

It was always vague regarding Cindy’s marital status!
She was in witness protection as Rose someone when she married George in Spain ! Goodness knows what they would make of that in Spanish law or if it means they were never married ?
Ian thought he was a widower for a while as they all thought she had died etc.
Bit of a mess , nobody seems to question it !

Eastie77Returns · 07/05/2025 20:03

Ian was technically a bigamist when he married his many wives after Cindy 'died' (but the police colluded in declaring her dead I'm not sure there are any legal implications for him) so I think she is basically still married to him! Her marriage to George was therefore invalid.

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 20:09

So, if this was ‘ real life’ ( ha ha) Cindy might be advised to divorce Ian first then go for the businesses and the house. Despite the fact she had nothing when they came back from France and although the pie shop was her idea, she didn’t invest did she ? .. ( can’t remember)
I doubt she’ll have much to fight for tbh, but they all need some kind of proper advice!

Anyonecanfallinlove · 07/05/2025 20:50

I found it very confusing when Vicky said she was sending Joel to a boys school. This may never happen, she doesn't have parental responsibility and where will she find this magic boys school? The boys schools round here are grammars or independent, would Joel pass the entry exam? Would Vicky be able to pay for a school of her choosing? Would either be able to offer a placement? It was ridiculous her even suggesting a boys school. I just think they were better in Oz. The whole paying off story is just unbelievable and the dad is a useless enabler, he is allowing Joel to be a pervert

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 20:53

Boys schools where I live are usually from age 11 and they have to pass exams to get in. Joel doesn’t strike me as the academic sort to even try that route at his age. He was lucky to get into Walford high almost immediately. In real life he’d still be waiting for a place.

MadisonAvenue · 07/05/2025 20:55

Talking of parental responsibility, does Joel still have a mother living in Australia who hasn’t been consulted about him staying in Walford?

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 20:57

Even boys at an ‘all boys ‘ school can still meet up with girls on line or on the way to school ! It probably wouldn’t solve much : the boy is trouble and clearly doesn’t respect women and he’d find a way around any kind of restrictions!

the80sweregreat · 07/05/2025 20:58

I think that Joel’s mum lives in London.
How Ross ended up in Oz with him I’m not sure really.

Shellingbynight · 07/05/2025 21:02

I agree Cindy is going round in ever decreasing circles. Her story arc was fine up to the bash on the head but after that she has been left with nowhere to go. Everyone hates her, so what can she do other than blackmail and kick off again, and be increasingly 'evil'. That was boring when it was Nish and it's boring when it's Cindy.

I thought the same about the boys school, how is that going to happen? At least Vicky is trying to do something, unlike Ross who is continuing to conceal his crimes.

TortolaParadise · 07/05/2025 21:05

I've mentioned this before but we need to see the teens in school in order for their stories to be relevant and their characters to develop.

Eastie77Returns · 07/05/2025 21:11

Also since Joel is 15 shouldn’t he also be sitting GCSEs? Or is he gong to be held back a year since he’s just turned up from Oz and presumably hasn’t studied for them. I don’t know what exams they do at that age in Aus. From my hazy memories of Neighbours I can only recall the HSC which I think is the equivalent to A levels/age 18.

Southeastdweller · 07/05/2025 21:16

I have no interest in seeing the teens at school. There was enough of that in the Sean O’Connor era of regular PSA’s when the most boring character in soap (Bex Fowler, truly her mother’s daughter) was being bullied at school.

Edited

Ross is worse than an enabler. He was laughing and joking with Joel about using protection with Avani even though he knows she is underage. What kind of dad stumbles across a couple of 15 year olds having sex in the front room and just thinks it’s all a bit amusing. It’s quite twisted. I wonder where and how Joel has internalised that his degrading treatment of women is ok.
