EE Wiki has Nugget's birthday as 29 Sept 2008. It doesn't have a DOB for Avani.

Yeah, it just says 2009. It can only be August at the latest for them to be in the same school year.

I don't understand how Nugget and Avani were born so close together that they are in the same school year yet Ravi didn't know Avani existed until Priya turned up? If Avani was born just 11 months after Nugget then he must have known as he and Priya were together for a while after Nugget was born.

I binged watched the last few episodes and had to laugh at the scenes with Harry brandishing a crowbar and fighting his parents. His 'angry' acting really is comical as is this entire Shireen storyline. The Nu Mitchells have not worked as characters so there is no tension or real interest in what happens.

I agree that Tommy has a crush on Joel. There will probably be a rinse and repeat SL about a young violent teen struggling with his sexuality like Ben years ago.

I also wondered like a PP how Jada would have any kind of housing situation that would enable her to put up Sharon and Albie for months! She must live close by as at Easter Phil said he picked up Albie and dropped him back with Jada. I'm sure she was penniless and homeless when she arrived on the square with the baby. I guess granny Sharon is subsiding her.

I knew he'd film her. So yet another storyline involving toxic controlling males. We've barely got over the Pastor, Reiss and Nish.

I don't know why they are linking it to Adolescence, the two storylines aren't really similar.

Ravi must have been with Priya and Nugget for a little while , then she fell pregnant and he took off and wasn’t around for any of them.
As always with these back stories to the characters it’s vague as to what happened or where they lived or how Priya managed on her own with two small children for money etc.
He was her drug dealer as well and went to prison.

I thought he raised Nugget on his own. When he arrived on the square he was a single dad. If he left Priya when Nugget was a newborn and then returned at some point (when released from prison?) to take Nugget, then he would have known about Avani as she was only born a few months after her brother. It's all very confusing and the timelines do not make sense.

Not helped by the fact Avani is a grown woman playing a 15 yo and is not a good actress. The storyline with the police could have been a powerful one but it is beyond her capabilities.

I thought Ricky making fun of Tommy over his lack of respect experience with girls was pretty ridiculous given his situation with Lily and Charli.

good memory , I had forgotten this about them.

I think Ravi's 'dad' (the one who turned out not to be his father and who he killed) was raising him.

Oh great. So more screen time with an anguished Avani, Ravi threatening to batter Joel/dangle him over a bridge and Priya screeching blue murder.

Why do EE insist on making their young characters so messed up. Obviously shit happens with teenagers but almost every single one on the square gets involved in a very dark or controversial situation which is ridiculous. I know it’s supposed to be an educational tool but I don’t think young people watch EE??

If I'm remembering correctly Ravi's dad assaulted Priya and she had to leave. She was pregnant but Ravi didn't know.

They always mess up the teenagers. I hope they leave Barney alone though!

Barney will probably go off the rails when he finds out Teddy isn’t his dad.

I think Barney will go off the rails too. With Avani as his friend and potential drug supplier I see a Zammo (Grange Hill icon) script on the horizon.

Or heave a sigh of relief !

It will be interesting to see how Barney reacts when he finds out about Zack. He is not really the type to go on a drinking spree or smash up a bar, he tends to think things through. With his family has already had quite a few challenges to push through including Nic going to jail.

They seem to be making Avani into another Whitney, a damaged teen who gets into more and more difficulties.

Barney will be upset his been lied to for years , but he may just run off to the allotments and someone will talk him round! It will be interesting to see how he reacts , I hope it’s done with some sensitivity

I think we can rely on Teddy to be the one to go on a drinking and smashing spree when he finds out about Zack! I liked Barney's reaction today, he is very chilled. But he has had a pretty traumatic childhood.

Today's episode was so dull that I was almost glad to see Cindy at the end!

They’ve been making a big deal about GCSEs being about to start, so I wonder whether imminent developments are going to disrupt the exam season for Barney and/or Avani.

I’d been wondering why Shireen’s pregnancy hadn’t been mentioned recently - didn’t realise Harry had been unaware.

How did Penny know Shireen was pregnant?
