Dropping soon…starting thread in anticipation of many toe curling lifestyle guru treats with a total absence of irony and self awareness…!

I can’t wait to see what mundane item of food she ‘uplifts’ 🤣 is it tonight it comes out?

RubyTuesday10 · 04/03/2025 07:49

Should be today apparently now that those pesky wildfires are yesterday’s news.

I've just watched the first one. I watch any old tat but this isn't for me. It just feels inauthentic and a bit cloying (not just the honey!)

FanofLeaves · 04/03/2025 12:26

It’s really bad!!! She has obviously had a series of people come over to teach her how to preserve, how to garden, how to decorate a cake, how to flower arrange- and is passing it all off as if they’re own skills and passions. Absolute bullshit.

TizerorFizz · 04/03/2025 12:30

I’ve heard early reviews and most people talking found it divorced from real life. Very little of interest to most of us. Netflix have ended the deal so little to interest them either. Just a rich woman telling you about her rich lifestyle. Boring! She’s got a nice kitchen though apparently!

It’s a set! The whole thing is inauthentic to the point where she’s not even hosting people in her own property.

it’s also disgustingly over-privalaged. Her advice to people who are not fortunate enough to be able to pick produce from their own garden is to ‘go to a Farmer’s Market’

Kaftankween · 04/03/2025 12:40

I only watched half of the first one so maybe it improves but the friend she had over she has apparently known for 15 years. They were so stilted and awkward together. It was uncomfortable to watch. Neither could be themselves. Awful.

TizerorFizz · 04/03/2025 13:36

@FanofLeaves A set! Oh well - commentators this morning said they loved her kitchen! Totally agree about privilege. I don’t understand who needs this crap and presumably Netflix agrees.

Chazoop · 04/03/2025 14:07

Watching now (whilst WFH!) and I'm only up to the bee part, but my god you can see what this is all about, it's about HER and how she's showing the world how graceful and wonderful she is!

PP's are right, this screams a very selfish, self centred person with no appreciation for the real world. I would go as far as saying she's deluded. You can imagine her and Harry watching this back for the first time and him telling her how wonderful she is. Whilst surrounding by her yes man friends.

Harry is brainwashed. No wonder Will and Kate didn't want to get involved with this one.

Truetoself · 04/03/2025 14:17

The very fact it wasn't done in her own home meana it's completely unauthentic!!!! Was it for security reasons she couldn't film it in her home?

Chazoop · 04/03/2025 14:20

Her and her friend:

M: that lemon is beautifully zested
F: Thank you
M: You're welcome

Who says you're welcome to a friend saying thank you!?

greenpasturesandcloverfields · 04/03/2025 15:04

I used to be interested in articles about m&h just because I wanted to know what they were doing but since Meghan has been promoting these shows that are out of touch for most of us I would think, seeing her face now in the news usually to push some project she's doing is the opposite of clickbait to me, I just scroll past.
Reading everyone else's comments about having looked at her latest Netflix show is more than enough for me.
LOL pp's Meghan and friends dialogue!
When you have nothing else to say?
Say 'thank you'!

Majorityofthree23 · 04/03/2025 15:04

I managed 5 mins.....and that was painful

JimHalpertsWife · 04/03/2025 15:06

I saw a clip on TT where Mindy Kaling calls her Meghan Markle to her face and she sort of tee hees "oh you call me Meghan Markle" - I thought she was going to raise the fact that a friend doesn't need to use her full name.

She continued "I'm Meghan Sussex"

Fuck me.

Xraytime · 04/03/2025 15:14

Watched the first one quite like it and her friend. Making the candles and I didn’t know corn could pop like that—where can I buy that corn? The bath salts were unrealistic. The good oils and mixed salts were at the bottom and then she dumped regular baths salts on top and then the bath teabag? An I suppose to pour the whole thing in one bath? She should’ve done smaller containers.

The second one I found boring. Mindy kept gushing over her and agreeing with her I found it annoying. Also the stuff she was showing wasn’t hard or interesting. It was like something I would do with toddlers at nursery. Cutting sandwiches with cutters. It’s very childish.

I found the edible flowers in everything annoying also. The small slice of baguette with edible flowers. Kids won’t want to eat that.

It reminded me of the stuff I did during Covid.

I will keep on watching the rest but I hope it’s less flowery.

It's a lovely antidote to all the negative energy in the news at the moment - perhaps the energy isn't on in the news . By the way - you don't have to watch it ! Sometimes I feel the school bullies resurge around Meghan .. I wonder what's different about her that bothers them so much...

LipglossAlly · 04/03/2025 15:24

I am loving the show so far. It is just the perfect lifestyle/comfort show( I'm really into this type of content lately). The beautiful kitchen, scenery( God, I hope I lived in Montecito). The episodes with Abby and the one with Delphina are my favourites so far. Seems to also have had good reviews.

It’s not even her kitchen. Nothing about it is real. You can tell she’s never done any of those things before (cutting the top off a cake, taking honey out of her bee hives, eating pasta 😆). The whole thing is absurd.

Look out for the lumpiest cake batter you’ve ever seen!

No way the finished cake was the one she ‘whipped up’, her batter was shite because she hates baking. Those pale donuts she made for the chef, he couldn’t put it down quickly enough!

Also then banging on about sharing the same surname as your husband and kids being so important when Mindy has famously never disclosed the father of her children and is, as far as known, a single mother.

I saw one bit where she said about being a 'present parent' whilst making some fruit bowl with yoghurt for clouds. That was enough for me...

I can totally see how she didn't fit in with the royals.

Oh yawn. The old “You must all be racist” trope. did anyone really know Meghan was mixed race until we were told?

Shes a narcissist. That’s what’s different. You’re welcome.

JandamiHash · 04/03/2025 16:37

Hunkering down to watch episode 1, may or may not doze off after a long day at work

It definitely doesn’t have good reviews. I’ll give it a chance anyway.
