We have had Super Saturday, A good dozen songs are confirmed.

We have controversy in the song from Malta and the Maltese word for singing. Essentially the whole of Finland’s song is arguably even more controversial. Ireland are singing about the Russian dog sent to space in the 50s. Our band has possibly been leaked as a country girl group. Mans might be back for Sweden.

Anyone getting excited yet? Any opinions on the songs so far?

God, it's awful

That didn’t grab me at all - sounds like they can sing quite well live though so maybe it will be a “moment.” Country music is having quite the resurgence too?

God, second listening doesn’t really help - “what the hell just happened?” being sung repeatedly. Yikes.

Urgh. I was hoping for something a bit different from the current songs just to stand out a bit, but it's bad-different.

It's like a cross between Ke$ha and Nemo. They've gone for the grand, switch up style of Nemo, but the largely unrelatable theme of, "OMG, how drunk was I, lol".

You need a relatable theme/mood, banging vocals and a memorable, singalong hook.

They can only succeed on the vocals now.

That. Is truly appalling.

I like country.

That's Scooch meets country. This is not a compliment.

I don't hate it. I'd probably prefer it I'd it was in a different language because the lyrics aren't great but their voices are good!

I thought they sounded really autotuned in the video?

This is so depressing. Why would we put this forward? I can't see who it would appeal to. Mind you I said that about Sam Ryder!

Shame it got leaked that it was them. Not a massive fan of the song tbh but vocals sound good on their tiktoks though so that's something!

Yet to love any song this year!!

I don't like the word 'hell' in the title and can't bear the phrase 'no clue'

It's catchy alright. Personally I don't like it. It's a bit musical theatre and there's a suggestion of Alvin and the Chipmunks in the vocals. The tempo changes are annoying.
Who knows though if they can sing well live and the staging is good, it might go down well.

Some pretty big ifs there.

And what is it the UK has repeatedly fallen down on in recent years...

One positive I'd say is that compared to I Wrote a Song, they at least look like comfortable performers in the video.

Mae Muller didn't even look comfortable in the video with very basic dance moves.

I hope the styling is better for the performance than the video (which gives mild La Noia vibes, but La Noia worked well with, but I don't think it works for this song).

I quite like it and I think they will be good live. We might do ok if Europe aren’t holding Malta’s lyric change against us. Kiss Kiss Goodbye was also officially released today from Czechia - I really like that one still.

Just listened for a second time on the radio. The uk song is growing on me and the girls came across great on Scott Mills show earlier.

However like PP said I don't like the title "what the hell". Not sure more religious conservative countries will like it

I quite like it and hopefully it won't get nil points. They're all good singers and one of them reminds me of Lindsey de Paul. (Showing my age 🤭)

It's not great overall. The verses are decent but the chorus is very flat and it's all a bit messy.

I can't see an issue with the title personally. 'What the hell?' is a pretty standard phrase. It's hardly Bambie Thug summoning and exorcising a demon on stage!

I predict our song will be bottom half of the left hand side of the board

Anyone watching Melodifestivalen? Måns won the jury vote. But only by 2 points with Kaj in second place. This could mean a potential upset is on the cards!

So happy that KAJ won and it's great to see Sweden go for something fun and creative! This has tons of personality and it's so catchy, I think it has a great chance of winning the televote.
