We have had Super Saturday, A good dozen songs are confirmed.

We have controversy in the song from Malta and the Maltese word for singing. Essentially the whole of Finland’s song is arguably even more controversial. Ireland are singing about the Russian dog sent to space in the 50s. Our band has possibly been leaked as a country girl group. Mans might be back for Sweden.

Anyone getting excited yet? Any opinions on the songs so far?

I’m getting the feeling suddenly that Sweden aren’t going to win after all. Although I don’t know who would win instead, Not sure where it’s come from. Maybe I wasn’t as blown away as I expected by their performance in the semi-final although it was good but then my expectations are maybe just too high. I saw somewhere that Austria’s staging is gonna be really amazing. Although it is all in black-and-white.

I think their problem might be the juries - in the past couple of years, they have all zoned in on one song and made an insurmountable lead.

Sweden will get decent jury votes, and decent public votes - but I don't think it will be enough.

Which is a shame in a way, because I don't rate Austria as a winner.

The bookies now have Latvia qualifying from SF2 rather than Serbia. Although it’s really neck and neck between Latvia/Serbia/Ireland for that 10th spot (and Armenia/Denmark aren’t far behind). After SF2 anything could happen!

It really depends whether there is consensus amongst the juries. If they all love Austria, then Sweden might not be able to overturn the jury score. If they’re split, then they should be OK. Any of France, Netherlands, Switzerland might challenge Austria in the jury vote. Or it could be someone completely unexpected - like Albania or Portugal or UK Italy. This year feels quite unpredictable.
