Really didn't like their finished house…wonder if it sold?

It felt incomplete and thrown together.
Red rose windows in the conservatory needed removing.
Disliked the ‘hatch’ arrangement, the kitchen felt dark.
Hated the untility in the conservatory, including having to walk round to white goods. Was one the dishwasher…surely not.
The bathroom was awful too.

It sounded like a move to Manchester to me after Paul saying they had an opportunity.

Since when did the master/main bedroom become the 'primary' bedroom? Phil and Kirstie both said it last night.

I've noticed primary bedroom being used in American programmes like Selling Sunset.😊

newhomein2025 · 27/02/2025 20:52

Couldn't understand why they hadn't put the dining room adjacent to the kitchen and the living room at the front of the house 🤔. Also wasn't a fan of the bathroom tiling - if they knew they were likely planning to list, something neutral would have been a better choice. Also not at all convinced by the utility in the conservatory but maybe quite useful in practice.

newhomein2025 · 27/02/2025 20:53

I quite often see principal bedroom these days in place of master. Primary sounds a bit weird to me.

TuesdaysAreBest · 27/02/2025 21:29

"Master" is considered sexist. Apparently.

Meredusoleil · 27/02/2025 21:37

What's wrong with just saying the main bedroom? Principal sounds very American to me. And primary just sounds weird!

Turmerictolly · 27/02/2025 23:38

I don't like the conservatory much but could see it was practical for the kids and dogs coming in from the garden and hid the washing machine away. It looked better afterwards but maybe not £54K better. It's a shame they didn't have a bigger budget as I reckon that house could have been really transformed inside.

There are definitely better houses out there for their £450K budget, particularly if they move to Rugby but then she'd lose her support network and they'd both still have a commute.

shewasasaint · 28/02/2025 09:02

I agree about the dining table being so far from the kitchen. It looked so odd, having to go through the sitting room to get to the dining area. Maybe it was to keep an eye on the children more easily.

The bathroom decor wouldn't appeal to everyone. The bitty design might not look so great with the usual bathroom bits and pieces lying around.

Floralnomad · 28/02/2025 19:27

Does anybody know why Kirsty is doing the driving now ?

Floralnomad · 28/02/2025 20:03

Ignore that he’s driving at the end of the, what a waste of time all they needed to do was tidy , I doubt it will stay looking like that for long . The bathroom is hideous and that sofa is far too close to the TV . Dreadful .

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/02/2025 20:44

The sofa was in the middle of the room because they put the radiator where the sofa should have been. But yy to switching so that the living room was at the front and the dining table at the back. I also didn’t like the kitchen layout with a weird dead corridor bit to the back door. I did like the hatch, though.

Honestly, one of those two needed to look for a job near the other one. Living in the middle is going to be useless when someone needs to be there for school pick ups/collecting an ill child etc - both parents would be an hour away. Either someone moves jobs or you stick with one person having a very short commute and one a long one. Although I suppose you could be clever with the home working days and make sure there was always someone wfh, if that’s possible.

If they don’t sell quickly it will soon revert to the state it was in as both seemed quite incapable/oblivious in that regard.

Wouldn't like those outbuildings with young children

Toddlerteaplease · 05/03/2025 20:58

Maverick?!

Bankholidayhelp · 05/03/2025 21:03

Think Curtis looked loads more enthusiastic than Jamie. Think Jamie looked tired and worn out.

crumblingschools · 05/03/2025 22:12

I felt sorry for Jamie, she looked quite sad

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2025 22:40

Agree @crumblingschools

I agree with you.
He looked as fresh faced as ever.
She looked tired.

Fair dues to her doing exams and having a baby within weeks as seen on the original programme.

shewasasaint · 06/03/2025 18:30

Curtis certainly is a very hard worker and very capable but I thought he also came across as selfish. Everything seemed to be about what he wanted.

When they've done the extension in a couple of years I bet he wants to make the move to Wales.

Poor Jamie could hardly muster a smile.

newhomein2025 · 06/03/2025 20:35

Does Curtis have a job? He seems to have a lot of time. I know they said he had given up the gym job to make furniture.
Poor Jamie! She would clearly have been quite happy to stay where they were. I'm exhausted just watching Curtis so goodness knows what it's like for her. He's definitely planning on dragging them off to Wales in a couple of years.

Mooosewoman · 07/03/2025 22:33

Poor Jamie Lea. When I had three young children, I lived in a nice finished new build. If I’d had to live in a building site, I would have gone completely mad.

Admittedly Curtis is amazing at DIY but I would have just wanted it to stop.
