Awful.

Like Suky's heart outfit.

Shadesofscarlett · 12/02/2025 20:57

they look really happy

Course they are!

Not to my taste the changes. But do love the floor and having the same throughout the downstairs.

Where is the utility room then?

I don't think they showed us? Very disappointing.

Meredusoleil · 12/02/2025 21:24

They haven't finished it yet. They quickly showed a room with no window that had all the kids' school shirts hanging on clothes horses in it.

crumblingschools · 12/02/2025 21:25

They hadn’t got round to building the utility room yet after the nightmare of the rest of the building work

Mooosewoman · 12/02/2025 21:39

Meredusoleil · 12/02/2025 20:52

That pink front door is hideous 🙁

Yep!

Pipsquiggle · 12/02/2025 22:20

Anyone else noticed that they hadn't bought any end panels on a couple of their kitchen units. Just looked a bit weird

Anjo2011 · 12/02/2025 22:51

Couldnt warm to Suki, blamed her DH for everything. Not surprised they stayed, their house was massive but still not reaching its full potential. I always find with this programme the house after the renovation looks disjointed as you still have a large area untouched and looking old and unloved. Not one of my faves.

deeahgwitch · 12/02/2025 23:27

I don't like that pink door with the red brick either @Meredusoleil.

Some of the houses shown were lovely.

They did a nice job.

I wouldn't have fancied staying in that house with 3 children during the delayed renovation. 😮

Pipsquiggle · 13/02/2025 06:57

I think they were a naive with the build. They seemed to think a renovation should be easier than an extension which is just wrong

We bought a house with a weird layout and an awful conservatory. We also built an extension where the conservatory was. The extension was the easiest bit of the entire build. Every wall was touched in our downstairs reconfiguration, it was incredibly intrusive.

I have no idea why they haven't pushed on with the utility room. Having a well laid out, working utility room is transformational in a house

deeahgwitch · 13/02/2025 08:36

They never seem to suggest putting a roof on the conservatory and insulating it and turning it into a proper room on these type of shows
There are specialist companies that do this. You have a solid roof and can have roof lights so it doesn't need to be dark.
Surely it would be cheaper ?

My friend did that but was still quite cold

as didn’t have proper wall insulation as conservatory’s have glass mainly

I was going to have a conservatory but went for an extension in the end due to room being to cold in winter and too hot in summer

I expect they ran out of cash and were going to do the rest later

Turmerictolly · 13/02/2025 09:10

I liked the finished space but they must have run out of time or money as the utility wasn't finished and there seemed to be a couple of bits still to do in the kitchen. The houses they looked at were very nice but they did have loads of space in their current home. It didn't have a lot of kerb appeal though but it looked like a nice area and they would be reluctant to move schools I guess.

Femalefootyfan · 13/02/2025 09:28

Two things I found really odd about their house; the pink front door, awful and the dishwasher. They had that great kitchen, loved the colour but I’d have had the dishwasher properly integrated to match the door colour, it really stood out being white and bare, I didn’t like it at all.

I spotted the dishwasher too! Didn't even fit under the counter properly.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/02/2025 12:03

I actually thought they would be listing because they hadn't integrated the dishwasher! Glad to be wrong though - I wouldn't have moved away from the swimming pool either. None of the houses Phil showed them quite added up to something better - they're already in a big house with a reasonable garden, plus the pool, so to move they really needed something knock-out/significantly bigger/with additional interesting factors. I'm not sure I would be particularly keen on taking on a holiday let if I didn't need to, especially as it said they both worked and had three kids to wrangle as it was. They're a lot of work and you lose at least some measure of privacy. God, though, imagine 7 months with no end on the house and no kitchen, and they didn't move out!

HotCrossBunplease · 13/02/2025 12:30

I imagine they were just waiting for an integrated one to be delivered.

Femalefootyfan · 13/02/2025 15:55

I’m not sure I’d want a pool, it’s an expensive thing to have & I think the novelty would wear off for me quite quickly but then I don’t have growing kids anymore

crumblingschools · 13/02/2025 16:10

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I can't imagine the hell of doing building work (especially if a long delay and no kitchen etc) and then deciding to sell and have the hell and stress of a house move! No wonder they weren't listing it

Shadesofscarlett · 13/02/2025 18:20

i think they mentioned using the old appliances. i wondered if they would replace and integrate later

tothelefttotheleft · 13/02/2025 22:11

Surprised no one mentioned how much weight that Suki had lost.
